Do you think they'll let me slide? My gun is shooting at 413-415 fps. I don't really want to be put in the 50' range since I'm only going to use semi-auto.
Unless you guys know of a way i could shave off 5-10 fps...
maybe leave the spring cocked back a little while, like shooting on full-auto and releasing the trigger when the piston is all the way back in the cylinder?

I doubt they'll let you slide. If they let you slide they'd have to let everyone else slide who was just a little over and then there wouldn't be a point to the rules. However, I have heard that leaving the spring compressed as you stated can lower FPS. However, I don't know for sure by how much or over what period of time it takes. |

If you do leave your piston all the back you risk warping your gearbox shell. Just FYI.

i understand that but if they don't let me then i'll have find a way to put my gun in permanent semi auto.
maybe they can make like a special case if i go up to whoevers running the game and explain the situation.
edit: I didn't notice that last post...
how would my gearbox warp? just from the stress of the spring being compressed?

Two items:
1) Matt, I apologize about the roster. I've just been terribly swamped wih work and havent had an opportunity to update lately.
2) Xicutioner - I hate to sound like a dick, but no special cases will be made. Like Angel said- we make a special case for you, we have to do the same for everyone else.
Besides, the Op will be primarily CQB, and lets face it, NO ONE wants to get hit with 415 FPS at 20ft, especially on full auto. If you want to use it, find a way to lower the FPS or deal with the 50ft engagement.
I'll try and get the roster updated tonight, but if not I'll do it saturday (double shift tomorrow, so I'm gonna be hella busy)

If it's a CQB op, why not just make the limit 350 FPS? I know it's kind of last minute and word probably won't get out to everyone, but I'd rather not get pelted by hot guns because these hotshot airsofters don't care enough about engagement limits.

Psychosis: From juniors descrption it's not entirly CQB so why restrict the people who wan't to use upgraded guns. Also, I don't consider myself a "hotshot airsofter" because my gun is shooting above 400 fps, and I don't appreciate the title. I guess some people don't care about respecting other people. From a "global moderator" I expected more.

I hate getting overkilled, particularly in CQB, because it's completely unnecessary. I pride myself on being able to kill people with very few shots Now I'm not too offended because you misconstrued what I was saying, but don't push your luck. |

Sorry Psychosis, I misunderstood becuase you're post was right after mine and yeah you get it... I also hate being overkilled but, (not starting an argument) i think pain is kinda the nature of the beast here. trust me ive been the victim plenty of times to know what it's like which is why as previously stated i only use semi. Alot of times i think people can't hear you call you're hits over the excessive gearbox noise.
sorry but, when it sounds like a direct comment at me I'm not one for being walked on.
anyway.... how 'bout that roster?
