Well, to give this one an official start, this is the info thread for our newly-created Weekly Freakly event. The 313th, as of this week, will be opening it's field for non-member play every Sunday night, in Taylor. This field is not an extremely large area at the moment, and is restricted to 30 people until we expand the boundaries to compensate for a larger number. As warmer weather/larger numbers approach, the area will be expanded, as we have a large amount of land to work with (we are currently using maybe 1/8th of our potential land). We have permission to use the field, as the team Sergeant Major lives and works there, and I have worked there myself part-time (the property is owned by a business, but the owner has given us permission).
Now although some of you may be opposed to playing at night (we have to play after business hours, as to not alarm customers), this is a fun field to play, including 2-tracks, light and heavy foliage, trees, open areas, etc. And, to sweeten the deal, there is NO CHARGE! That's right, the 313th's Sunday Night Weekly Freakly is free of charge for all who attend! We simply want to play without having to hope for an event to come around on a day that none of us have work or anything. Weather does determine the game's status, as if it is too cold, we don't want people catching pneumonia just to play. I will post the status of each week's game here on SEMIA to inform everyone of cancellations, time changes, etc.
All that is required to play is an RSVP either as a reply to this thread or a PM. I will post if the game is full, and will give out directions to those who are attending (as I do not want to give out the address and have possible "field pirates" come play without the owner or our permission). Hope to see you there!

This sounds great, so it's going in the events section. Make sure to bump it with new info whenever there are games so we stay up to date.
We've had some problems with people telling us that they had permission to use a field when they didn't, so do you think you might be able to send me some kind of proof of permission? Something like a scan of the land owner granting permission in writing, or really, some indication that one of your teammates actually lives and works there would do it. Don't get me wrong here, it's not that I think you're a liar. It's that we've tried the honesty thing in the past and it didn't really work out, you know?
I work almost every sunday night, so it might be a while before you see me out to one of these games, but I'll do my best. From the sound of it, you guys seem like a fun group to shoot with.

Yes, I actually do remember that entire debauchery. I'm not really sure how to post the proof, as we have verbal permission, and the team Sergeant Major has no internet connection to come on and verify his employment. I honestly won't be out to the field until Sunday night, as I will be out of town from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning, and the Sergeant Major is normally the only employee working on Sunday during this time of year, so the owner won't be there to give us written permission until Monday. I can try to scan one of my old check stubs, which will have the business name on it to prove my own relationship with the business, as I received a check a couple of weeks ago. (I work there during busy seasons as well).
I do understand being cautious, as our fine sport has been under fire over the last year or two, and we really don't need any more bad publicity. If desired, the event can be delayed until I can prove our rightful use of the field through visible means.

Well, the owner will not be back until Monday, so an actual written proof of permission cannot be obtained until then, however, those that wish to play still are welcome, and I will be willing to show a check stub to those who show up, and the team Sergeant Major's residence is the staging/parking area, which will show that he lives and works there as well. I do understand that many of you will not find this to be enough proof to put your minds at ease, and we will understand if you wish not to attend, but we can guarantee that we do have permission to use the property.
I do apologize that I could not get this in time for this weekend, and next week will be hectic for me, as my fiance will be having open heart surgery and will be hospitalized for a week, and I will be away on Army Reserve duty during the weekend, so I really can't be arsed with trying to track down paperwork until afterwards. I will be getting everything straightened out in time for the February 10th weekly, so be ready for that, as we should have everything proven and square.

Don't worry about time, just get it to me eventually. You seem trustworthy enough that it shouldn't be a problem. I just don't want SEMIA to be posting an event every week for a couple months at a place that we really don't have permission for. It's happened once, so I'm afraid of it happening again. If you say you have permission, and you can get it to me in some kind of reasonable amount of time (as in, a couple weeks, give or take), then I'm going to trust you on it. Your games are fine, at least for a while, until you send me something. Just don't fuck us all over

OK, well all those who wish to play please let me know by 4 PM tomorrow so I can PM directions to our location.
Also, for legal purposes, there will be a waiver to sign for anyone who plays on our field, to protect the owner from lawsuits. This is a one-time thing, as we will keep your waiver on-file for later games. Any players under 16 will be required to have their parents drop them off the first time they play so we may meet with them, ensure they know the risks involved with the sport, and ensure them that we do not have bad intentions, as well as have their parents sign the waiver. I know this is a lot to ask, but we do have to cover our own asses as well. If there are any injuries, I am a certified Combat Lifesaver and can tend to injuries on the field.

Ok, the deadline for all those wishing to play tonight is 4 PM, to give us time to contact everyone with directions. We will play regardless of how many are coming, be it 4 or 30.

What are fps restrictions? I can only assume that they will be similar to CQB restrictions for safety reasons, due to a lack of proper lighting.

We use the honor system, due to lack of a chrono, but we do try to stay somewhat around CQB standards. I clock in around 380 and it suits me just fine.
