I've arranged to use the basement of a building in Downtown Detroit for an airsoft game. Sunday, Sept. 16th 11:00am- 8:00pm 1703 Cass St. Detroit, Mi. 48226 maps.citysearch.com/map/view/11491428 Cross Street: Bagley Street The entrance is a black door with the word "Labyrinth" above it, on the east side of the building. I recommend parking in the secured hotel lot on the west side of the building. That is the lot next to the hotel on Bagley st. $15 at the door 350.9 fps or less Camo Vs. All Black PLEASE ARRIVE IN STREET CLOTHESWe will dress and prep in the staging room. BRING AEG's IN CASES OR BOXES so as not to brandish them. Here are some photos: s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc259/Vegas_7/?start=0I don't have a scenario written. However, I have put some thought into the type of game-play that would be best suited to the area. I think a two team, attack and defend situation would be best. A hostage situation may work as well. I'd like to switch who is attacking, and who is defending each game. I also believe that there is only enough room for about 30 players. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. ~Vegas

I second that. Plus if the cops don't you we might have a visit from the local swat team.

There is secure parking, and everything is inside in the basement. But, if you're not comfortable with it, that's cool. I'm in the process of contacting the local police about the whole thing.

Dude this place looks sweet, I'd tear some noob ass up in there. Too bad it's on the 16th we may have to alter our plans as well.

The photos don't do it any justice. It's perfect for close quarters combat.

I think as long as everyone dresses and preps inside the building, then you'd be alright. Arriving in paramilitary gear would call attention to the building though.

As long as you bring everything in cases and boxes, nobody on the street would think anything of it. But, I still think we need to post a clear warning on the entrance, and contact the local law enforcement.

Definatly to all of that, I'd also try to encourage people to carpool, so we use only the parking lot, I don't think I'd like the idea of people walking down the street carrying rifle and gear bags either if you get my reason.

Well, it looks like it would be an absolute blast for CQB.
My only question would be, 1) Is the building occupied on the above floors? (this looks like some sort of apartment building basement) 2) If it is occupied will the occupants be able to hear anything?
Concerns would be, 1) What is up with the standing water all over? (is that a regular thing here?) 2) With the water, Is that place as moldy and dank as it looks? (Im wondering about black mold) 3) I would hope you guys could get a bit of time to clear out any obvious tripping hazards. (It'll be hard enough just walking through there, add in goggles/facemask and battle and it turns into more of an obstacle course)

Nevermore, Thank you for your good questions, you have very reasonable concerns. This is the basement of what used to be a Radisen hotel. Part of the floor above is another night club, the other part is the lobby. Thick, solid concrete is between us and them. We won't be heard through the ceiling and I'm planning on blocking/sound-proofing the door to the back stairwell. As for the standing water, it's not typical, those pictures were taken after five days of rain. I'm not concerned about mold. I'm no expert, but as I understand it, black mold feeds on the paper on the back of drywall. Most of the walls are old plaster construction. However, this place is very dank, very dark, and very dirty. Tripping hazards in this place are abundant. I'd like to clean out some of the junk, or move it elsewhere. But, this place will probably always be rough around the edges. I want to make it safer, but I think this place is always going to have some less than ideal qualities.

That place looks like it used to be some sort of underground club. Reminds me of SWAT 4, anybody know what I'm talking about?
Can you put up the address?
