EXTREMELY unlikely. Seeing as the registration opens first to vet's of past Irene events then to the rest of the world and they can fill up in a matter of hours, I doubt many, if any of us will even get a chance to register. The event is a mini vacation in itself anyway. Just getting to the event, and having a place to stay for a few days can easily be very expensive.
Although I will say this..If I ever, by some magical power, did get a chance to go, I'd jump on the opportunity and go. Irene is supposed to be the "best of the best" of airsoft Op's. The most in-depth and exciting airsoft experience known to man.

Some of GK went this past year, I wouldn't mind going if I had the chance, it would definitely be an experience.

I think we need to host a event like that here in Michigan

Yeah. I think someone made a post about a Michigan Irene somewhere on this site, but where would it be? Who would host it?

Lets just go rent out Selfridge guys! I plan on going to Irene some time in this short life... If it may be with in the next 5 years, or the next 20, some of my teammates are already talking about it.

Yeah I was looking around at how much it would cost to go and I was reading that some people spent over a $1000 just to go. Theres no way I'd spend that much for one Op. Maybe if it was like 2 weeks straight of playing I would but seriosuly I'd rather buy a systema PTW than that. Of course I figured out it'd only cost me around $300 to go. If I ever got in....

Dude, if I could make it with registration, I'd GLADLY pay up to 3-4,000.. Just for the adrenaline rush and intensity alone, it'd be worth it. Of course, that would include the cost of some new gear to take..
But, I'm all for paying top dollar for great experiences that I'll remember and I guarantee if you went to an event of that caliber, you'd have great memories to last a lifetime.
It's as realistic as you can get, short of having REAL ammo whizzing past your melon.

Selfridge doesn't have any training grounds worth a crap, you want Custer or Grayling. Crazy, you give me 3-4,000 and I'll take you out to a range and shoot some rounds by you for a day. Doing that will still be more realistic than Irene Plus I'll throw in some "extras" which will for sure give you some memories to last a lifetime!

I have some tracer rounds to add to the mix too! On topic. To play at Irene, you need to attend another USA Marketing OP first such as Northern Wind. Hopefully NW will be in the Midwest this year.

Unless you are Military sky, so if you want to go next year email Lu. That was the case the last three years for me anyways.

Well, it would still be an unforgettable experience even if it WAS Northern Wind or another OPLionclaws event... Just anything where the Mil-Sim realism is as high as it gets and to play with other people from across the U.S. would be great! Maybe someday airsoft will gain some more steam as an organized sport nationally and there will be more organizations holding Mil-Sim events like this, hopefully closer to home. Only time will tell I guess...

Thats what S.F.O.D. is planning to do...we're gonna try to hit Northern Winds and then secure slots for Irene, A few members of team T.O.A.S.T. are going with us I just got a PM from Agent of orin and aparently OP:Irene is being held in Louisiana at the Randall Shugart and Gary Gordon MOUT Facility on Fort Polk, to commemerate the 15th anniversary of the Somalia incident.
