50 Or more posts, and you become a junior member. Karma is just basically, do good things, it gos up (as in, spell correctly, have a good idea, you know, good things) If your an idiot and misspell all the time, or your name is chuck Norris, it gets into the negatives. Right It doesn't really effect anything. And now i will let Chuck Norris come in with his unoriginal stupid jokes.

First off I'll take any M16 or AK47 variant over a OICW because they are both battle proven (this doesn't include the AR15 or the M16A1, while the originals look bad ass the aren't the most reliable) and the fact that the OICW uses a battery and if that battery runs out and you don't have a replacement or a charger its basically useless. Also the OICW is ugly as hell, heavy, and a big waste of money. On top of that putting a camera on a gun to shoot around corners may sound cool but its kinda stupid because if it brakes your screwed. I'll take a good ol' mechanical gun over a computer that shoots bullets any day. (you can quote me on that)

How about if your camera doesn't work it's a normal gun.
Features: -shoots twice as far as M16a3 -5 times more likely to hit target (500% increase in probablility) -Also, I am pretty sure it is still gas operated.

If you put the camera on the gun troops are more likely to become reliant on it, the fact remains that its still to heavy and the battery can still pose a serious problem not to mention the added weight it will add to the soldiers load out. Also I know for a fact that I can throw a AK into a mud puddle kick it around pick it up smack the stock on a tree/ wall clear the chamber and it'll still shoot like it the day before. Can your OICW do that? Also if the OICW is so good why did the military turn it away? I have another question for you, why would you want to complicate combat by adding electronics to a gun all that does is guarantee more confusion and training? All I know is I'll stick with my M4A1 and my M203. (Lets not argue because I don't want any kind of flaming to startup over something so pointless so lets just agree to disagree. Also I didn't mean to be rude or anything in the above statements so please don't take it that way.)

Actually jester, is right, the gun is to big and bulky for our troups to use. XM8 would have been cool, but its just a G36 in a differnet body, to bad they cancelled it. If we just used the HK delayed blowback in our M16's now, we would be so much better off.

Thanks for agreeing man, I just don't agree with changing the system now because the M16 is now known for its reliability, accuracy, and just being a damn good weapon. So my question is why change from a good weapon to a weapon that will cost far more to make, be very heavy, and is run by a battery. The fact of the matter is that you can trust an M16A2 to work every time when you pull the trigger, can you do that with an OICW? Back in the Vietnam era the U.S. military tried a project similar to the XM8, it was the Stoner Modular weapon. It was a weapon made from stampings and you could swap out the pieces in the weapon and go from a MG to a Rifle like the XM8, the military still turned it down. The idea of a modular weapon sounds nice but the world isnt ready for the idea of a sniper rifle that can change into a MG in a matter of seconds.

well the options of the OICW, are really nice. thats what i like about it. It makes me feel like we are stepping out of the 20th century and into the 21st century with really cool future guns. you know what i mean?
