Yeah it shouldnt be to extreme there big sand trails. Maybe some mud.
Yeah when your going through 2 feet of water you dont break any speed limits, And i never left the roads so theres not a whole they can do. You definately dont want to do anything with drugs or sex on hines drive I mean hell they have there own police force for that section of road.

I just put a 9000 lb winch on my truck so no man will be left behind. Its great but boy did it hurt my wallet. I found a good price on off brand mud terrain tires at pep boys of all places.

Im considering somethign like that for the "El by 4" to power the camper if I need to, or give myself a jump start (something Ive done with limos MANY times in the past)

no isolator there just wired in parallel, I did it so the winch wont shock the alternator as much, Since under full load the winch can draw 300 amps. Next im thinking of a second alternator. The isolator is a good idea if you want to keep the two batteries seperate.

The isolator is a good idea if you want to keep the two batteries seperate. Im going to tell you right now, running 2 alternators in parallel doesn't work as well as you may think. You best option is a 140 to 165 amp alternator. 200 amp units don't charge very well at low RPM. Use dual alternators if you intend to have 2 separate electrical system, like I have done in the past with Limos. The stock alternator takes care of all the factory electrical. the second (and hi current) alternator is used to power all the electrical for the back of the car (TV's, stereo, amplifiers, lighting, rear Heat and AC ect..) You got my phone number Ted, feel free to pick my brain whenever..

yeah if i ran dual alternators i thought of using a deep cycle battery and using it just to run the winch, But i dont see needing to use it that much. right now im running a 130 amp alternator which i think should do ok as long as im not trying to pull a F350 out of the mud or something stupid like that. If anything i was going to make up a high idle controller like on tow trucks to get the rpm up while winching.

Ran the trail I have in mind this this weekend well actualy my gf and i ran down 4 trails and found out my truck doesnt take to being a bird real well, But anywho thats anuther story. The trail was a bit hard to navigate in the 3 in of snow but after a few wrong turns we did do the whole trail. The trail is well set up and plenty wide in most areas for any truck. There is one part that you will absolutely need 4x4 my girlfriend named it the hill of doom. Its a hill about 40-50 feet tall and a 45 to 50 degree angle and it was fairly deep sand, my explorer with stock suspension made it up ok. On the way out it was warming up out and the snow was melting to show most of the trail is sand. All in all it was a fun trip and I would like to see a could people up there.
