Hey guys, since I am doing rowing crew training this summer, and we have to run, do you guys have anything to help me out with running or crew if you've done it?
All help would be appreciated, as I dont run that much and today showed how sad I am when I run.

What do you want? Gatorade? Underarmor? Wishes of good luck? Shoes?
Be specific.

First off, how many miles will you be running? 1-3, 3-5, 5-7, more?
Bananas help reduce cramps while running if eaten a little before starting. Chew it thoroughly and sip water with it. Once you start running regularly the cramps should leave.
The key to comfortable running is not only having the right shoe for your foot, but socks. A great pair of breathable running socks will go a long way in keeping you running longer and more comfortably.
Stretching.. make sure you stretch every single muscle before AND AFTER running. Also, do a warm up of about 200-400meters before stretching. After running do a cool-down lap of about 200m.
I'll keep the tips coming as I think of them.
Oh yeah! I almost forgot: 98% of running is mental, suck it up.

Crew is a team sport of racing with long kayaks that seat 9 people. Anybody have hints on to relieve muscle pain?

I usually take IB Profien(SP) to relieve muscle aches, also stretching should avoid most of the aches. Once you get into the rhythm of working everyday, the aches should start to go away.

A tip to relieving muscle pain is to keep stretching your muscles, when you receive pain it's because your muscles are inflamed because of the build up of protein cells in your areas of pain. Stretching can help tone down the inflammation and can allow for more movement. I used to do a lot of running and I still do just for sniper training. It helps when you can run 200 or more yards and keep a steady heart rate to take a shot or two. But like Mr Embed said if you keep doing the same things over and over it will only get easier and pretty soon it won't even take any effort at all to do things like that. Then again it all depends on distance that your going to be rowing.

Sorry to go off topic, but I have a question on the running thing. Are you going for distance or speed when you run? Also, if you are getting running shoes, I would recomend Brooks.
