>:(Wow, I just had to take a break from playing SOCOM:Combined Assault....Been trying to beat the last Instant Action Mission on Admiral to unlock the very last badge I need to get the MM-1 grenade launcher. Been trying for an hour and a half...for one level . I guess my PS2 must be glitching or something, cuz I'm a big time SOCOM player and I've never had my ass chewed this bad.


I NEVER get pissed about getting pwned either, I see some kids have a tantrum about it but I'm always cool with it. But anyway I'm going along attempt after attempt just getting stomped. Let me first explain, In Admiral all you're opponents are highly trained mercenaries with decked out SAWs and M-82A1s, and bad ass P-90s that tear through body armor, not to mention NVGs and body armor for themselves. Yeah they have the load-out of the gods and the know how to use it.


They are familiar with most battle tactics and they work in teams of 2-3. But I try several different tactics and weapons load-outs for my team and just take different routes, but still I got battered. After a while I began to wonder what the deal was....Finally I got it in my head..."Lets play it close" I thought, so I did. I was doing OK at first I'd get really close to my opponent and just open up punching him and his battle buddy in the brown. Doing this I get a good 3/4 of the way through the level and I'm thinkin "OK bastards, I've got you're number" WRONG!



They ambushed me and poured so much ammo on me and my team, they'll have to get second jobs to feed their' trigger fingers. So it's back to the restart and I'm starting to get pretty pissed at this point, Same thing only I go around the whole area where they play the ambush game and try to hit em' from behind....meeting minimal resistance. The second I tag one of their "outfielders" the hallway floods with mercs at the ambush point, well I peek around the corner and put my SAW to work with a long burst of hell reaming all mercs in it's path. At this point I was thinkin "yeah lets see those assholes get up from that" BAD WAGER!


They did!, so I moved in across the hall to get closer shot and again I Peeked around and ripped down the Hall with my 249...I could actually see the rounds impacting all over the mercs, Some of them dropped to the floor some of them tried to run but they all got a lead paint job. The minute I let up one of them got up spun around and killed me with a small burst. I was pissed I yelled at the TV "CALL YOU'RE HITS, ASSHOLES !!!" and before I realized what I was yelling about, my folks were asking me the same thing. How do you explain something like that?

I was in the top 10 online in SOCOM 2 (made it to number 3) way back when until my PS2 kinda fried :/ .... when ever I have a hard ass time on a level, I'd use a sniper rifle. Try it. If no sniper rifle, use the M14.

Thats so wierd, I just got by it, useing the M-14, it's a little late but thanks anyway dude. That MM-1 is bad-ass...just don't fire it when running.

Nice job. I haven't got Combined Assault yet because I didn't really like 3 that much, I might just have to pick it up now that you brought it up. In 2, I always used the M14, M60, AUG and right before my PS2 died, I was just using pistols and still destroying people

Oh, dude you gotta pick up Combined Assault, The game itself is OK, but it's the weaponry that sold me, once you unlock a few things here and there it gets pretty kick-ass.

haha i was THE KANG on socom 2 along with my cuz who was 1* usualy. but we changed names often.

then on socom combined assault i dont even remember my name. but i hade code majic. which was bad as hell. but i sold my ps2 and i wish i had it.ima get it and get codemajic and play again!!! ahahah

respawns are even better. people get in the lobby and are like wtf man i recorded you your gettin banned and all that. lol its so fun i gotta get it now.

To be a little on topic with what you're saying, I've had many a times when a couple guys from Free Michigan Airsoft would be on Ventrilo with me and Doc and Mirage and we'd be playing some BF2 and all of a sudden I would hear Mirage yell the same thing. Sometimes I would even have a shout out here or there, or even just think about it when I'm playing, especially in BF2, where people can take 8 rounds to the chest and still walk at you like you just flicked them.

Then I found out about project reality and the very first game I played I flanked a sniper spotter team that were sitting in their rally point, I had the sharpshooter kid so I was using an M14 and I drilled the spotter right in the head and then the sniper, after that everytime someone would respawn in that area I had them pinned down or dead until my team could get in there and disable the spawn point.

Anyways, I know what your saying on that, it's a little funny that now that I've started playing airsoft everytime I play any video game I always play like I'm playing airsoft, especially Rainbow Six Vegas or BF2.

Lol, I used to play Socom 2 and Socom 3 24/7. I beat the single player from ensign -> admiral. The IW80 is by far the sweetest gun I've ever used.

I will always get super pissed off at my PS2 when I play that game. You should see my PS2 controller, Ive broken it in half, ripped out both the rumble parts, the red anolog light is shorted out, and its held together by scotch tape. I've broken probably 3 or 4 PS2 headsets as well.

I've broken just as many headsets, but no controller No, I never used those stupid glitches, and that's why I'm kinda glad I stopped playing SOCOM 2. I made it to the top 10 without being a H@xorz.

Thats what I love about Airsoft and it's community vs. the video game world, You don't get as many people that cheat their asses off and it can be sooo much more rewarding when you school someone(s). There may still be glitches(unreliable guns and hop-up) but you can't get any closer to the real deal.....safe M.I.L.E.S. gear......Which is now available to civilians at about $1000 bucks a set.
