Yes, but if there is enough ambushs and other opposing sneak attacks, it could work out and be fun. the point is it to be suspensful and choc full of action.

have you even come to one of our games? I don't recognize your name. Hellfish hosted some great zombie games, we have been hosting alot too. They are all short skirmishes. We are palnning a larger 2 day game now, you should check out the zombie thread we are drawing closer to making this thing happen. We intend to have a few role players directing people towards objectives so ther will be some element of the zombies lying in wait to ambush folks.

This sounds great but we already have a game like this going on.

Agreed, just go to the zombie game coming up. Then you can see how hard it is to make such a concept work.

Exactly, El phantasamo knows what hes talking about. Redknight and his team have spent a good 3 months on the OP coming up.

let the record reflect that we are still trying to make the thing happen after many months...something like 5 so far. We are still not ready to run this event.

Actually, Psychosis came up with the idea 6 Aug 2006, so it's been nearly 3 years in the making RedKnight and his guys have brought more progress to it than anyone else.

It's really my fault that we are not ready yet, if I spent as much time typing plans as I do drinking and masturbating procrastinating, this event would have happened already.... several times.

Since this thread, we've run quite a few successful Zombie games in Farmington's CQC facility. As long as everybody remembers to that they're not actually Zombies, so they don't go wailing into people full force, it runs pretty smoothly.
What kind of stuff was giving you problems?

We use semi-auto or single shot in are games and we limit surivors to 4. While the other 16 members hide in the woods and ambush we play sound effects and play when the suns not to bright. We have had cases where people trip running busting there guns or the fact the zombies get a little bit to excited and actually tackle.

I suggest that you limit the players to having only one magazine for their gun and restrict it to a mid or standard cap. we have been using objective based games at farmington once in a while to keep the survivors moving steadily instead of camping. I also suggest starting with more survivors and less zombies. If you are in the woods, instead of a fixed spawn point, I would suggest using a flag or mobile marker of some type so the zombies can have different spawn points as the game progresses. One of the things I enjoyed when I attended Phoenix's game was the objectives that they used. They had heavy objective items which required both hands to carry and thus made your team work extra hard to protect you as you moved along. I was going to also suggest that players be required to wear a glow stick affixed to thier uniform or gun to make the zombies job a little easier in the dark.

The heavy objective items sound fun, and gives the game more of a challenge (and point.)
What would also be cool, if there was one survivor that the zombies had to search for, and the military had to search for and retreive. The one stranded VIP could be equiped with just a sidearm, and is free to roam the field. The Zombies would also be free to roam, but the zombie's objective is to get that VIP first. The military force could search and retreive the survivor, with the zombies acting as an obstacle. The zombies should be in larger numbers, while the military forces should be in seperate squads limited to a few players per squad.
