Hi, I'm trying to get a smaller milsim game. The field will be near hix and warren it will hopefully last around 8-10 hours and I'm gonna try for either Friday or Saturday. Their isn't a cost to play but nothing will be provided as for guns/munitions age isn't a problem as long as your responsible and truthful about hits. All the things for the objectives will be provided. Their aren't any fps limits but try to be reasonable max limit of engagement is around 25ft unless your gun is more powerful. start time:hopefully around noon objectives: "destroy" the supply dump: AA gun with the comp b prop we will have capture: bridge: small strong hold: larger strong hold and "radio tower" eliminate:"mortar teams" and obtain the comp b for destroy objectives. If you have any questions about certain rules or terrains feel free to ask here or email me at "tuba411@yahoo.com"(the rules/objectives would be discussed before the game start) also their is a small river at one point. and I'm trying to get around 20 people total for this but the more the better. Who owns the land you're playing on?

Who owns the land you're playing on? I know that area. It is part of Holiday Park's wildlife/forest reserve. By my knowledge, it is not owned by anyone. Therefore, not safe or suitable to play on. I've been exactly there where he wants to set up a game, but for Geo-Caching'.

Well i'll do some searching and e-mail the city for more information so i could contact them. I'll also try to find any other areas to have this. One I know off hand is NRPH off of 7mile and haggerty. Although we will have to get permission from the owners and or city(who ever owns it). I belive NRPH is around 400 acres if im correct. It has like 10 or so big buildings, and a ton of woodland area near it. Only problem is liability so any one who would want to play would have to sign some saftey waivers most likely. Also it would evenn be great for a inflitration style game.

It sounds like it'd be a fun game, once you get permission. For now, I'm going to lock this up. Once you do get written permission, send me a scan of it and I'll re-open this thread.
Playing on public land is just a bad idea, and you'll end up running into a number of problems. For starters, if any non-participant happens upon the game (like somebody who's geo-caching), you run the risk of accidentally shooting them, which could potentially injure them (and even if it doesn't, it's still unwanted contact and could be prosecuted as battery). Even if you don't shoot a bystander, anybody who sees you is going to see a bunch of men running around in camo with assault rifles, which means they'll probably call the police. Now you've got police officers responding to a call of heavily armed men in the woods. At best, they confiscate the replicas of everybody on site. At worst, somebody accidentally moves in a way that the cops find threatening because you don't immediately recognize them as police, and they shoot that player. It may sound far fetched, but you hear about that happening once every couple of years.
Then, you have the fact that it's almost always just plain illegal to discharge a projectile weapon in most municipalities in the state. On private land, that's not really something you're going to have to worry about. But on public land, if the police do respond, that's an easy charge they can slap you with.
Long story short, it's just a bad idea to play anywhere but a designated field (like a paintball field) or on private land that's out of the public view.
