I hear people talking about sticking with MIA rules on engagments with difrent FPS ratings. However i looked on MIA and there was more then one proposed set of guidlines.
One seemed to be "the rulles" but on the next thred they were talking about amending the old rules. Can anyone tell we what the actual required distances that SEMIA will be inforcing.

The old rules on MiA have already been amended to what is posted as definite rules in the thread above it.

60 feet for guns over 401 fps? Wow, even 45 feet for 351 fps seems a bit much. But like you said it's subject to change.
It seems like it would be hard for a lot of people to distiguish the diffrencs between 25 and 45 feet in the middle of combat.

We shoud just really all have common sense. I know some people don't have the ability to use theirs, but we really shouldn't set up a bunch of rules right away. We should base our rules around experience. As long as everyone wears goggles, and doesn't act like a headstrong paintballer, we should do great. This is a game of honor and anyone who wants to play and be invited out again will play fairly.

you need written rules regardless..... without rules society errupts in chaos and failure. I really take to frostee's admendment on mia 1-350 fps or 1.20J max - arms length engagement limit 351-410 fps or 1.69J max - 20 foot engagement limit 411-550 fps or 3.18J max - 50 foot engagement limit i think these sound fair... any objections?

I'm good with infamous's suggestion. Although, do we want 550 to be the ceiling? Most other airsoft groups (like AO) use 500 to be the max. What do you guys think?

I personally do not have a problem with very high velocities, but I have never had a problem with them. As long as someone isn't opening full auto on someone with a 450fps satanic beast gun that leaves welts that look like paintball scars (I have seen this at a few operations). If you are using a bolt action, i see no problem with anything under 550 fps.

yeah, i think anything under 450 maybe 475 can be full auto but need to know their responsabilities with engagments. anything 475-550 is bolt or single, just an opinion but whatever you guys agree on works. as long as its fair of course.

Ok, I can go with 550. But I do think that the MiA semi auto limit on guns 411 fps is necessary.
