The Heat Shields are what make it look better, if I take them off, it leaves the outter barrel a little bit exposed. And, sorry El, I was not able to make it to Grey Lizard due to a last minute change in times for a Roller Hockey Game, and on the way to it, my dad's fan belt ripped itself to shreads (it was to small, the guy who sold it to my dad was an idiot).

Looks a bit front heavy.
Not something I would like to carry for hours on end.

I will be painting the RIS black, it looks a lot darker in person, it's just the camera's flash.
Not quite front heavy. But more changes soon to come, I am going to make it a lot more sturdy, as well as a lot more clean (not Rubber bands holding it). For now, it gets the point across, since it is a prototype.

When you say Heat Shields, are you talking about the Rail Covers?

Yes, I am talking about the Rail covers, or RIS covers, or RIS rails, or more commonly said in CA (where I learned they were called Heat Shields) Heat shields.

Oh, god Andrew.
What have you done.
I think it would look better without the Rail covers and Silencers.
Drill a hole into the side of your RIS and your AUG, and connect the back end by a screw. If you make two screws in the back it should hold up good enough.
Trust me without the heat sheilds and no Silencer it would look alot better. Also, remove the existing vertical grip, so you can slide the RIS back farther.

Believe me, without the heat shield and silencer, it looks like crap. I will snap a picture for it later. And also, this way, I do not damage my RIS. Which was my whole point in making this project. I didn't want to mess with drilling or stuff like that to my RIS. It will be held together better, the RIS will be held together by two circles on each end (like an M4A1's circle thing that hold the grips together) and be connected by a pipe that can slide on the outterbarrel, so it can slide on and off easy. Also, I want to keep my original Vertical Grip on there, that can fold, because if I held it with a Vertical Grip on my RIS, it would add more stress to the barrel. Also, it feels more comfortable then the RIS Vert. Grips. Black RIS, and pictures of it without the silencer and heat shields. New pictures:

Well if you moved the top peice of the RAS back more it would look better.

i really think you should just lose that small silencer, and get this, www.uncompany.com/images/ff-silencer-mode02-hk_big.jpgsomething a little longer, so you dont have to have those heatsheilds way upfront to covor the silencer. i also think it would look cool with a longer silencer, 203, and smaller heatsheilds (or moved back) to create an SD conversion or just get the phantom
