One thing to look into is many of the "going out of business" auctions (usually happen around mid-end 2nd quarter). The ability to purchase props(chairs, desks, cubicle walls, old electronics, ect) and other materials at very low costs. Also, you might get lucky and be able to ebay some of the stuff in better condition.
Although, would there be any issues with creating an cqb in a lease enviroment? ie: additional fines due to modification or "damage" to the building. No idea what(if any) legal implications there are, just playing devil's advocate.

I really think we should set up a meeting with ACO and have them give us some advice, they are doing really really well, and they could really help us.

Yet, we have no clue (though they are great guys), if ACO would help us.

Im sure we can get a tax exemption/discount at the nearby Home Depot or Lowes as a "not-for-profit". FOUND THE VID CLIP! www.summitlakefilms.com/video/asylum2.mp4OK has anyone found any usable property? Even if we cant get it, we have some general ideas as to what our expenses could be.

I have been looking at building that are available for lease , the price range from 3000 to 10,000 $ per month . The building would have to be at least 7,500 Sq ft. The building is going to cost a lot the utilities probably around 450$ per month. As stated before by EL we need to really take are time in getting this done . We wouldn't want to get in over our heads and not be able to pay for the rent. take this winter and summer and look around find some buildings ,write down the contact # and pm them to me and i will contact the owner and talk to them. I have the financial backing but before i and my partner do this i need to know there is a major demand for it . during this summer i would like to make some type of pre-registration so i can at least get some type of numbers of actually player that would show up ,and how many times per month .

Couldn't we write off heating and water and what not, because it is for the buisness?

Couldn't we write off heating and water and what not, because it is for the buisness? Well, as a "not-for-profit", we should get tax exemptions anyway. Basicly all our income is to pay for the building. With a "non-profit" we cant make ANY MONEY at tax time With a "Not-For-Profit" If were in the black at tax time, we can keep it. This is a nutshell version. We need to talk to someone who really knows this stuff before we get started. We also need to know if we can "sublease" any part of the wharehouse for S-Systems store. Even if he's paying for his part of the place, the landlord my not agree. We have plenty of time on this. Lets keep the brainstorming going

I'm not sure why you guys are so stuck on heating the place. The building provides you shelter from the elements that should be good enough. Just rent a port-a-john or something and save yours-selves a lot of money a month. So it will be a Little cold, who cares. We're not girl scouts here. Everyone should have cold weather gear of some sort ( we do live in Michigan and are winters are cold we all know that) If lease prices are going to be as high as it sounds we need to save every dollar we can. If in the future this really sticks and we have a lot of paying members, well then we can afford to spend a little extra for amenities Just my thoughts on the matter

see, i dont know if ACO would like competition. ACO is a profit organization and they are prolly greedy SOB's.
ive got a whole bunch of portable plug in heaters because my dad owns a refridgeration business, if the place we can find has electricity, we can plug those bitches in.
ive still been looking for places, but it seems like livonia is REALLY against violence.
just my 2 cents.

You know, calling one of the more respected groups in our community a bunch of "greedy SOBs" is probably not the way to build a good image, even if you're only doing it in jest.
