Game Times: 3:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Background:
This Operation is set in Vietnam in 1965. Specific Units, Engagements and Soldiers have not been mentioned or recreated out of respect for the men and women who served our country during the Vietnam Conflict
0400- Operation Starlite begins with bombing runs on suspected Viet Cong positions. There is no resistance and no aircraft are damaged. Marine elements are moved to staging areas and reconnaissance units are scrambled to search the area of operations
0645- One of several reconnaissance elements scouting for Viet Cong activity reports losing an aircraft over the Bing Mao Basin. Recovery landings at the crash site suggest that the crew have been captured. It is not known if the crew is alive or dead
0900- Marine elements form up and begin the assault through the Bing Mao region. Viet Cong elements of unknown strength are reported in the area but visual conformation has not been successful. Mike Company sets up blocking positions on the main route to the villages of Nam Yen and An Cuong
1115- Hotel Company secures the village of An Cuong and prepares to attack the nearby Hill 30 overlooking the valley
1130- Hotel Company comes under heavy fire at the base of Hill 30 and sets up HQ in An Cuong. Elements of the 1st Viet Cong Regiment are spotted moving into the area adjacent to Hill 30
1305- A Forward Artillery Command Group moving forward behind Hotel Company is ambushed and pinned down outside An Cuong. India Company is called in to assist
1320- India Company moves out to protect the besieged command group and reinforce Hotel Company. Progress is slow and several ambushes along the roadway to An Cuong inflict casualties on both sides
1430- India Company reaches the vicinity of the artillery command group but has yet to link up with Hotel Company. Viet Cong resistance increasingly heavy
Mission Objectives:
US Marines (US)
1) Re-establish contact between Hotel and India positions
2) Keep the NVA off the wire at friendly HQ
3) Link up with / evacuate artillery command group
4) Search for downed Huey crew; may be captured
5) Secure the slopes of Hill 30
Viet Cong (V.C.) / North Vietnamese (N.V.A.)
1) Organize ambush positions and stall American advance
2) Eliminate the American command group
3) Break into the main American position and steal supplies
4) Hide and protect captured helicopter crew
5) Keep American forces from establishing secure perimeters
Forces in Play and Uniform:
U.S. Marines: Woodland BDU, ACU, MARPAT, OD Green, Tiger Stripe
NVA / Viet Cong: Black BDU or clothes, Desert BDU, Urban BDU, Civilian (Camo top/bottom with civilian opposite)
Chopper Crew: speak to CantoXII if you wish to play this role
Ammunition and FPS Regulations:
Standard Rifles and Submachine Guns
- 420 FPS limit
- 800 rounds in any configuration. Loose BB’s are not permitted
SAW's and Support Weapons
- 420 FPS limit
- 2500 rounds in any configuration. Loose BB’s are allowed
Sniper Rifles
- 520 FPS limit
- 200 rounds in any configuration. Loose BB’s are not permitted
Engagement Limits for all Weapons
1.0 - 350.9 fps - Arms length engagement limit
351.0 - 410.9 fps - 20 foot engagement limit
411.0 - 550.9 fps – 50 foot engagement limit, bolt action or permanent* semi-auto replicas only
551.0+ fps - Prohibited or allowed with permission of event organizer only
*Permanent semi-auto refers to replicas that do not have full-auto fire capability, no matter how the selector switch or other user input device is manipulated.
General Information:
- All players must sign a waiver before playing
- All minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian
- Running water and electricity available on site.
- BB's, Green Gas, Batteries, and drinks will be for sale on site.
- Visitors or parents will be admitted for free.
- Violation of rules or regulations set down on the field is grounds for removal from game without refund.
What to Bring:
- Full eye protection – MUST BE FULL SEAL
- Spare BB’s
- Compass (at night you may get disoriented)
- Tactical light / weapon mounted light
- Spare flashlight (on your person in case your tac light dies)
- Canteen / Snacks
