I'm doing a bit of looking around for a gun and I'm finding alot of used for cheap. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good website that has good info on repair, wiring diagrams or whatnot. I need some background info so I can make a more educated purchase.

we wish there was sites like that.......
You best source of information will be people that know how to work on a mechbox properly. I know I have, JackB has im pretty sure, Knief has, and there are some other people im sure who have that i cant remember.

I guess I'll ask the seller about it and post back to see what ya'll think.
Found a G3A4 going for a pretty good price, all I know at this point is that it frequently misfires.

Mine is doing the same thing, but I noticed the mag wasn't staying all the way in. Again, a cheap fix. You remember my big ass rifle Boba, cause thats what you're buying

I just want you to know what you were getting into. I find me G3 a bit cumbersome at times, but I love her dearly anyway Its a great rifle, but they cant be customized like an M4 can. If you focus on internal mods, barrel, spring/gears ect, you can have a real bad ass. Like Millers Styer AUG And please, call me El, everybody does

More importantly, look for something that appeals to you. At the end of the day, this is a game, and it's about having fun.

Well, I can't afford what appeals to me... really wish I had a grand laying around to buy a SAW,
But next best thing, the "G" series, have a bit of affinity towards the A3/A4 variations. prefer the large battery with the A3, but I think I can live with an A4. Really trying(although not too hard) to stay away from the sg1, great gun, but not as unique. Push comes to shove, and I'll go with the sg1... oh darn(read: sarcasm).

I just wanted to point out some of the G3's shortcomings before he buys it. If Boba accepts that, he'll have one hell of a rifle. Id feel kinda bad if he didn't like it because it was so big and kinda cumbersome and didn't tell him that. I have learned how to work with a replica that size. the trick is holding it back with the rear sight nearly in your armpit CLEARLY NOT for CQB! [edit] I dont care for the SG1 stock. I have found the fixed and retractable stocks from Hong Kong retailers. Im thinking of using a regular G3 fixed stock. I do like the cheekpiece with my red dot, but the iron sights are unusable with it. If you go retractable, you can fit a custom battery in the foregrip witht the same MaH rating as a large. theres a lot of room up thare. If you didnt recall, I did remove the BiPods from the foregrip. there noisy and get in the way. The only time I used them was setting the rifle down

I can't see size being a shortcoming. The shotty seemed way too dinky to me, I need a bit more "something"... great exercise plan to boot.
When I read the reviews, everybody said it was huge... after seeing it in person, I didn't think it was too big. I admit I'll have to get used to keeping an eye on where the barrel is going though.
edit: Oh really!(in reference to the battery on the A4), that's another nod toward that model.

yeah, I messed with it for a moment, don't think I fired it(we were in the parking lot I think)... my initial impression of it was that it was too light... but then I checked out the CA33e that was there. Gotta say, after holding that behemoth, being lighter sounded better and better.

Hahaha, well, I trained myself. My M4 isn't exactly a featherweight for it's size. However, since I played with a SunPro M40a1 for about a year, which is a wood stock on a nothin but metal body and barrel, I have no problems going all day with my M4.
