Sunday, Nov. 25th 10:30am- 8:00pm I've arranged to use the basement of a building in Downtown Detroit for another airsoft game. Here are some photos: s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc259/Vegas_7/?start=01703 Cass St. Detroit, Mi. 48226 maps.citysearch.com/map/view/11491428 Cross Street: Bagley Street The entrance is a black door with the word "Labyrinth" above it, on the east side of the building. I recommend parking in the secured hotel lot on the west side of the building. That is the lot next to the hotel on Bagley st. $10 Pre-sale tickets(PM me) $15 at the door 350.9 fps or less Camo Vs. All Black 30 player max PLEASE ARRIVE IN STREET CLOTHESWe will dress and prep in the staging room. BRING AEG's IN CASES, BOXES or BAGS so as not to brandish them. Everyone must sign a waiver to play. Waivers will be available on sight. Bring state issued IDIf you are under 18 you must have your waiver signed by your parent or guardian. If your parental unit will not be present to sign for you, I can e-mail you a copy in advance. I don't have a scenario written. However, I have put some thought into the type of game-play that would be best suited to the area. I think a two team, attack and defend situation would be best. A hostage situation may work as well. I'd like to switch who is attacking, and who is defending each game. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. ~Vegas PM me to RSVP and arrange pre-sale tickets through paypal. Well, the rocket launcher was originally "designed" to be purely airsoft - it was to fire model rockets with the nose cones filled with BBs. Well, after we lost the prototype rocket on top of a school after the maiden voyage, we hacked the hell out of another and used that for the rocket. Now - the launcher, it is a piece of PVC, roughly 3" in diameter - and it used to be about 8-10 feet long. It is about 3 feet long now - if that, maybe 2' or 2.5', and it is designed to fire tennisballs (which have been tested, and performed poorly).
So, since the model rocket is a pain to muzzle load and get to go really accurate (though it was sorta accurate), we want to use something else - we're just not sure what exactly...

I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to say no about that 'rocket launcher' in its current state. If you can get it to fire 6mm, 8mm, or a foam projectiles, with a safe, consistent propulsion system, then we could look into it further.

I figured so - Chris really wants to bring it every where - I just had to confirm the fact that it is not quite...safe...

Isn't airsoft in Detroit illegal? "They are legal throughout the U.S, however due to high crime rates are not legal in certain cities such as Camden, NJ, Newark, NJ, Chicago, IL, and Detroit, MI. The states of New Jersey, Illinois, New York and Michigan do however allow airsoft guns to be used and handled publicly because of Federal and State laws that regard airsoft guns as toys." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airsoft#Legal_issuesCorrect me if I'm wrong please, I'd love to play here.

I tried to look it up myself and could not find the answer. I know i've heard from someplace before that it was, but really all it takes is a short call to the PD to verify.

It's illegal to sell airsoft guns in Detroit. It's illegal to brandish your airsoft gun in public.
It is totally legit to have a game on private property, out of public view.
Also, the main entrance and the back doors(which will be locked) will have giant orange warning sign on the outside stating that 'we are playing out simulated military conflict scenarios with replica guns, and eye protection is required inside.'

I can call the cops and talk to them too. It doesn't matter what the cops say, they don't write the law. And it's not the cops I would be afraid of, it's the prosecuting attorney's office that presses the charges and puts your ass to jail!!! In the City of Dearborn, it was (and perhaps still is) illegal to discharge a paintball gun. Including on private property, because it's an ordnance. Just like Taylor has an ordnance about how many non-running vehicles you can have in on your property. Public or private property, it doesn't matter because it's a city ordnance. Now, by that it's a fine or a misdemeanor, and not a felony. Either way, you may end up a night in jail and your replica's confiscated until your trail. I'm not disagreeing with the safe practices that's being asked here. I'm just saying before you run off and say it's legal. You need to have backing...in writing from a legitimate source. Not some cop you chat too...because you can. Vegas, the City Ordnance doesn't say anything about discharging a replica, so yes your correct. And I agree that is appears to be legal in the city of Detroit.. as so long as it meets Sec. 38-16-2. Part D. Personally, I would make sure I have a orange coloured tip on my replica. Remember you're dealing with the City of Detroit.
