Maybe there could be a price discount for the zombies. Nobody wants to be a zombie.

Yeah, I was thinking free for Zombies for sure, I may even give them a T shirt or patch for having done the thing. As for a location, I believe that I was in error to have thought of using any location in Detroit. No doubt a crack-head would wander into the event and be mistaken for a zombie (terrible waste of ammo) and it might generate trouble for us too. I am also in a group, based out of PA, called the Zombie Squad, and their website is at (no longer listed) I am going to invite a bunch of them, even though they don't have airsoft experience for the most part. THey are a charity group that teaches about disaster preparedness and they use zombies as the example of the worst possible disaster. I know this is kind of drifting off topic, but they are all about zombies and they have a considerable following in Michigan and they do stuff like film festivals, and seminars, etc. They would be great people to help us out with zombies in my opinion. If i host an event, anyone who has a Zombie Squad ID would get a discount at the very least, I was thinking $5 off price and another $5 off if they play as a zombie. My total projected fee per player would be $10 and I would probably give early registering people another discount. I know it lowers the profit margin, but I am going to be hosting for charity so its all proft either way, and its supposed to be fun first right? I have been thinking of having some of the zombies wearing thick vinyl masks along with their goggles with condoms full of water and ketchup tied all over the bodies of a few of the zombie players to burst and spray when shot just for the visual effect when we shoot a few movie clips for the event. They did this sort of thing in a few classic zombie movies and I thought it would really look cool to see zombies with fresh spurting blood and gore on them. I would probably supply them with about $30 worth of Salvation Army or GOODWILL store clothing to avoid ruining nice stuff. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? Probably the best damn idea this thread has had yet. Maybe A Zombie Squad member has enough property to host this event. Do some diggin and make some phone calls, see if we can get this to happen this summer or fall. this thread has been going for 2 1/2 years. Im tired of waiting, I want to shoot Zombies

I love that blood spurting idea. Good thinking. After you see my parent's place, you can decide if it'd be suited for what you're thinking of. I couldn't imagine having more than 50 people there. Also, running around in the woods at night with only tiki torches to light the paths while running from moaning zombies players wearing masks would be alot of fun.

dude, 37 acres is friggin huge! I will get some more solar lights and I already have lots of other stuff to make it creepy. IF we can use your place thats great. I would like to host it as a charity event if its ok with you, Shadow. I am a member of Zombiehunter.org (Zombie Squad) we are trying to start a michigan chapter and we need to coordinate a charity event first, to qualify( kind of proof that we are worthy) In any case, I want to a short amature video before the actual event and I think experimenting with the spurting blood and stuff would look sweet if we used it in a video to promote the event. I am off tuesday, wednesday and thursday I will give you a call for sure so we can discuss stuff. I would also like to rent a 'circus tent to give folks a break-room for relaxation and fellowship. I also have two generators I could bring to provide power in far reaching areas of the land. (they could always fail and shut off when appropriate to add some cinematic flare to things)

Nice! I have few tents about 220 square feet each here. I would love to see generators with stobes and such, or even just garage work lights that go out and the generators because creepily silent... Maybe someone would scream and the generators would go off to signal the beginning of the game? Would there be a story like DOOM or Half Life before the game? As far as charity, I don't care. I never plan on making a profit of these games anyway. If I ever do charge, it'll be for pizzas and soda for everyone. We're not a business. We're just some people that want to have fun. What I've done before with some friends is get some small MP3 players and battery operated speakers and repeat tracks of people talking/whispering, choppers and jets flying over, and recordings of airsoft guns firing. I would get two or three sets of them and place them in different areas of the woods. I think you could do something like that except make it zombie sounds, moaning, screaming, and creepy stuff. One last thing. As far as the T-Shirts for the zombies as a thanks for doing it, you can print T-shirt paper with whatever you wanted on it for 75 cents a sheet. (Not including the shirt) That way it could be cheap(increase charity profits) and be whatever you want, even customized for each person!

I will get right on designing a t-shirt iron on. i love the idea of recorded moans and growls playing faintly in the background. I was also thinking of how to do the video for the promotion of the event. once I talk to you I will explain what I have in mind.

YOU MUST BE 30 YEARS OLD TO PLAY HAHAHAHAH!
(ok, ok I was only kidding please don't slap me again)
18 y/o players can sign their own waiver, obviously. I think that if you are under 18 you will probably have to be accompanied by an adult who will co-sign the waiver in our presence, while providing picture ID also. I think that if you are under 16, we may want to require an adult/parent/guardian to stay and participate with you.(I am no longer a Boyscout leader, and I will not be a baby sitter, no offense intended to all the greater players out there under 18, you guys are alot of fun and great competition, its just that one little twit that we don't know yet that will ruin this thing for everyone if anything goes wrong). I am thinking as an absolute, no younger than 14 or 15 should be allowed... what do you guys think of that?
by the way barret, thanks for the reat link, that pulse rifle is sweet!

I think that sounds fine. I know it sucks to be too young, we've all been there. But I think for the sake of the event, 14/15 is a good medium. Sorry to all of you whom this applies to.

The pulse rifle is sweet but way too expensive. In its place we can highly modify our AR's.

I will carry my nerf longshot it looks like a pulse rifle In other news, the ZombieSquad group I listed previously has decided not to endorse this event so we can not hope for any support from the organization. Personally since we were going to do it for them as a promotion for their group, I am a bit ticked, but hey its their name, they can reserve it if they want, we just won't bother doing charity work for them. Some of the local members have already expressed interest in being a part of this event, taking part by being actors and such. I am going to get together with Shadow during my vacation, his spring break. We will probably shoot the video with the assistance of my lovely wife, who is experienced, having worked as a professional wedding photographer. I personally want to make it gory as hell! We also are talking about building modular structures for all of our events. THese may work well for the zombie event since we need multiple cabin-in-the-woods type of structures for survivors to hide in. I will be looking for someone who knows how to edit digital video to do some special effects and the credits as well as other mundane stuff like editing my appearance to make me look dead-sexy ;D

Shadow - dude its all good! I just got back from farmington CQB, I got some more ideas that will make it even more exciting! you and I have to meet soon so we can take over the world! ....I mean so we can build structures for airsoft....
Imagine zombies wearing ghillie suits...running around in the woods, at night. Now imagine that you are defending a position which has flood lights set on a timer. after 30 minutes, the lights die out and you have to wait 30 more minutes to reactivate them... I have some crazy ideas, but I will explain them in detail when we talk again, I am planning on having some areas set up at night so they can be sort of an oasis from the zombies giving you time to rest and reload, etc...
