Who would be interested in throwing together a skills comp like Dirty Dozen did at the Romulus field? I havn't really talked to El about this, but if we DO get the field back (pretty sure we have access already) I dont see this being a problem. I was thinking of like... teams of 4 or 5 in a team based IPSC style contest.

I'm up for it. How are we going to do targets? Little Bear has a $1500 target and timing system.

I'll play. Balloons work well, but a cheaper alternative is making a bunch of small wooded boxes that hold sheets of paper. You can do the same thing as the baloons, but with colored paper of course. You lose out on the popping, but gain not having to blow them up and picking up rubber pieces everywhere. On dark color paper its pretty easy to see when you punch a hole in it also.

Id rather use IPSC or other paper targets. We can score your targets against your time for a total score

Well I think accuracy by the inches is kind of silly airsoft wise, considering pistols/aegs don't shoot the same every shot. 6x6 paper would probably be ideal. Also, I dont know how well this would work in airsoft terms, but we've done this real steel many many times. We used it with our M21s, 40s, and SPRs. Take an RC truck, tie a baloon to it. We started it at 150ms, and would drive it like a mad man across the range. We'd see who could hit it the fastest. Damn hard, but really cuts down trigger speed. Of course this would have to be altered to airsoft, but it could prove to be fun for snipers if set up realisticaly.
Forgot to mention we killed 6 cars this way, one guys 300 dollar something or other was split in half. Pretty damn funny, especially when he pistol whipped the guy who shot it lol. We also tried it with an RC chopper, but that also fell to AAA fire when everybody (about 17 guys) started shooting their M9s at it. Ahhh the memories....

Lest see what we can do about the last sunday of each month, depending on interest.
I have no problem buying paper targets, but there wil be an entry fee only to cover event related expenses.

Pie plates work well as targets too, and we might be able to make some sort of flip down thing.

Pie plates is a great idea. flip down shouldnt be too hard to do, would be a good project.

We will not have Romulus for the forseeable future. There has been a HUGE problem wiht vandalisim and vagrants in the area. the new owner of Metro Coach had enough vandalisim in one night to the point where his insurance carrier dropped him and had to go through another company However, OverKill is looking into a lot near his place that is use for haunted hayrides in the fall. Lockede untill we have property to do this
