Vietnam Era Operation

Who would be interested in a Vietnam style operation, the hosting location is TBD. But I would think the MOA Tac field would be nice for this, maybe do this just before most people go back to school as a back to school style game. Feel free to throw your ideas at me but I'm going to get going on a script for this.


EDIT: I've made a scenario for this, here it is:

Background: VC Forces with the help of Ho Chi Minh have pushed into Saigon, now the Army of the Republic of Vietnam is finding themselves swarmed and the Marines are called in to help. Inside the ARVN base contains documents that the VC would find very helpful in taking the Marines out and forcing the United States out of Vietnam, along with these Documents American Senators are inside and need to be extracted.

Team 1: (ARVN) Army of the Republic of Vietnam

Objectives:
-Hold the city of Siagon until U.S. Marines can relieve them (Aprox 2 and 1/2 hours)
-Protect the U.S. Senators until the Marines can extract them out of the city to safety
-Protect the Documents
-OPTIONAL - Capture Ho Chi Minh

Clothing: Woodland MARPAT/ Multicam/ Woodland Classic/ OD Green colors and color base is fine

Team 2: (NVA/VC) North Vietnamese Army / Viet Cong

Objectives:
-Take over Siagon
-Eliminate all ARVN/Marine Troops
-Obtain Documents
-Elimate the VIP personel

Clothing: Desert Digital/ Tan Pants/ Ragged Clothes / Navy Blue Jumpsuit/ Anything that would distinguish you as VC or NVA

Team 3: (USMC) United States Marine Corps

Objectives:
-Eliminate all NVA/VC forces
-Enter Saigon
-Extract Documents and VIP personel to safety

Clothing: (Same as Team 1) Woodland MARPAT/ Multicam/ Woodland Classic/ OD Green colors and color base is fine

Rules would be standard MIA rules and pending on the field a waiver would need to be signed.

I am interested, but not everyone has Vietnam style gear so it might make this a little hard to put together.

Well... We wouldn't need to go full out with it, as in only vietnam style M16's and ak's are allowed. But generally speaking like VC would have green pants and a tan shirt and Marines would have MARPAT or standard Woodland. I'll have to work on a script and talk to some people and maybe we could get this one going.

Yeah, I should have a rough script drawn up tonight, and once I get the go ahead from Viper (Op-Doc) we might just actually host this.

Just so you guys are aware, and I hope this is obvious... if I see any racist epithets, namely the g-word, I will ban whoever says it on sight.

Scenario-wise, I'd like something a little bit more historically accurate - of course most of the parts will have to be fictional, but it has to be believable. Having Marines relieve the ARVN/vice-versa makes sense, but not in Saigon. Same with the Senators randomly there.

I'd be in, but I'd rather see more air cav type shit, I do reenactments here and there so I have a FULL vietnam and WW II uniform loadout, I have enough vietnam gear to load up another 3-4 people so a few guys on my team would also have the vintage look, unfortunatly I don't have my M-14 anymore thanks to wolf and I don't have a 60s version of an M-16 either, but I do have a CAW M-79 and a Govt' 45, we'll see what this turns into.

Who was dropping the G-word? But anyways, this is historically accurate to the Tet Offensive but instead of having Military Officers of high ranks in the buildings I've placed Senators.

On topic: I wouldn't drive all the way to MOA's field to do this however if the numbers get big enough, I might. I have the perfect load-out too.
