Events set into Motion:
The 2008 Presidential Elections between the Republication and Democratic Parties were expected to be the biggest turn out of voters the country has seen in over 60 years. The media forecast was indeed correct, lines at the voting stations were outside the buildings, and in some cases wrapped around the buildings. America had never seen such a turn out of votes. And for the most part, voting was peaceful; except for the few places where crowd control was required to keep the peace.
The Presidential elections appeared to be on the level. The beginning of the day the Republications were leading the elections, by mid-day the Democrats had taken the lead, and following up closely was a strong opposition group out of New Hampshire – the Independents. The final hours of the voting tally were extremely close. All three parties were within a few points of each other.
The next morning America woke with the news of a new leader, by the shock and awe that the Independent Party had triumphed by only three electoral votes. Moment's later, and for some a more tragic event had occurred. The New Elect Leader of the Free World had been assassinated along with the New Elect Vice President.
Other members of the Independent party for fear of their lives refused to take the role of President and Vice President Elect. Party members refused to comment or assume the role until the parties responsible was found and brought to justice.
The country became outraged. At first only the political members started pointing fingers, followed by key organizational leaders, and finally the General Public. The government decided the current administration would continue to stay in it's present position, at first this seemed acceptable to the general public. The media was acceptable to the government outcome and the 'spin' was acceptable until the assassins were brought to justice. However the federal investigation kept falling short, and the American people grew tired of excuses. The media and American people started demanded reports of the investigation, and soon key individuals of selected organized parties (such as the NRA, NAACP, ACLU, etc ) started to disappear.
Without what seemed just-cause the Government declared Marshal law, halting the freedom of speech to the media and other key organizational leaders. Without comments from Radio or TV, all American's were feeling the same. Murmuring under their breath who had assassinated the President Elect, why the Government Declared Marshall Law, and what was the government doing.
Late night show host Julius Hoffa, make a remark about the speed of the investigation and was immediately arrested during the show. The next morning Julius Hoffa was found in his house murdered the same way the President Elect had been killed.
Riots, shootings, political segregation, people loosing their jobs based on their political belief was only the beginning of separation of society. Despite the controls in place of the government, and resignation's of Key US Military leaders, the government was losing control.
The people of the United Stated have revolted against their government. At first the split was between Anti-Government and Pro-Government. But soon more Key officials started to disappear and the factions split once more. The people of the United States split into three different parties partly based on their economic and political situations, however the party statuses soon changed and created fractions based upon the regional demographics of the county. The fractions that have been formed are:
Northern States of America (NSA aka The Union) – consisting mostly the original 1864 Union States of America, these states hold the countries heart of manufacturing, and the majority of middle class population. NSA controls the majority of the heavy industry throughout America.
Confederate States of American States (CSA aka Confederate)– consists mostly of the original Southern Confederate States of 1863, these states of the majority of key international leaders of America, Commercial executives, as well as the majority of the NRA members. CSA controls the majority of arms, ammo, and explosives throughout America.
Independent Freedom Fighters of America (IFFA aka IFF{B} for Beer) – consists of Higher Education (PhD, MD, etc.) and technical developers. Many people who moved to the Independent side were professors of highly technical schools and technical developers for Companies such as Microsoft, Sun, Boeing, Lockheed, Grumman, etc. A key leader of this organization is Professor Jon Luc DeUmba (physicist). IFFA controls the technical know how to develop weapons guidance systems throughout America.
As the country spilt, so did the resources to dominate control over America. As a member of a party, your objective is to obtain the necessary items required to build a long distance nuclear warhead. The party that completes the building of a missile will be deemed victorious over America.
Building a Long Distance Nuclear Warhead will consist of the following items.
1. Fuselage
a. Nose Cone
b. Payload Delivery Section
c. Payload Systems Section
d. Ignition & Flight Control Surfaces.
2. Warhead
a. Refined Uranium
b. Electronic Firing Pin System.
c. Warhead Guidance Interface
d. Firing Codes
3. Guidance System
a. Video Camera
b. GPS Guidance System
c. Radar / Transponder / Communication System
d. Electronic Flight Control System.
4. Control Center
a. Mission Control Station (Not team specific)
Bonuses:
a. Beer
b. Beer
c. Wine
d. Moonshine
e. Beer
Teams will be awarded funds for completing in game events. Teams may wish to trade parts or purchase parts from other teams. Trading may occur before or in-game (note: only negotiations may occur, items are not traded until in-game). Key individuals may be captured for key developments throughout the game.
Beware! Some boxes are planted with IED's and other favorable / non-favorable items depending on who you are. A box found in the open may contain plans, added re-spawn, IED, Plague (Slows re-spawn time), Good Health (Increases re-spawn time), credits, etc. Beware boxes may have reverse effects in the field or at the spawn point.
Each team will have two of each item listed in A, B, and C. And only one listed item in D. (Example Warhead: A, B, & C will have 2 of each item, but only has one D. Firing Codes.) This is to promote trading and recon of your enemy stores, a team may not wish to trade a selected item to a team that may complete the missile. Boxes may be stolen, captured, or traded.
Items will be inside boxes with a code number marked on the outside of the box. Only the originating team will have the reference numbers to these boxes. Reference numbers may not be traded or shared.
08:00 – Final hour before game starts for trading.
09:00 – Game Starts
12:30 – Cease Fire (lunch)
Negotiations begin
Poker tournament (Gamble for Credits and/or Items acquired in game) – Winning team will receive the Mission Control Station.
14:00 – Resume Game (Mission Control Station not released until later)
15:30 – Mission Control Station has been air dropped to winning poker team.
18:00 – Game End
Poker Tournament – A leader isn't just someone who can give order, they are also good a bluffing. Buy in for this event is 100,000 credits, and the winner receives the Mission Control Station, the final requirement for winning the game.
