A few days ago I went and saw MI3, which was a pretty good movie, I liked the photography and everything, but there are some things that bother me about it. First we'll start off with the part where he shoots the guy with a 9mm round and the guy flies through the window, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, need I say more? Then when he swings over to the top of the one building he cuts the rope and falls about 15ft on his back, and is totally fine. The same scene he slides down the building (roof is a steep slant) and he stops himself on a small ledge which would've broken his arms. One more thing is when he goes to jump the hole in the bridge, he throws the g36 across the hole then jumps across, picks it up and starts shooting, not to diss HK, but I don't think any gun could take that. There are a ton more things like that, but those are just off the top of my head.

I could throw my airsoft gun across the pavement and it will still shoot fine... real guns are even stronger.

My explanation: It's a movie. What about at the end when they let his wife into the top secret IMF facility? What about the .50 Barret rifles set up and controlled on a remote system which has super thermal lenses? It's just to get emotions out of you and say shit, that was cool. Some people are sticklers for realism (Me). That's if it's supposed to be a realistic movie. MI: III wasn't striving for realism so I accept that and go into Realistic Blindness mode. What pisses me off is stuff like Windtalkers, stuff that should be realistic. John Woo trashed that movie with Bazookas that fire Nuclear Warheads and Thompson Submachineguns with unlimited ammo.
(And yeah, the cinematography and direction was great. I underestimated J.J. Abrams. The score rocked balls as well)

I hate it when in movies people fall from unrealistic heights and are fine (one to note was Garfield, if anyone saw it, yeah it was a fake cat, but he fell like 4+ stories from a window, through a company truck, into boxes of lasagna. THROUGH a METAL truck roof. What the hell is that. 1st floor, possibly, 4th+ floor, no way).
I didn't see MI: 3 yet, saw Scary Movie 4 instead because I think MI: 3 was longer, and cause of driving curfew, had to be in before 12 Midnight (or else my parents would of took my license away, they are sticklers about that).

That'd be funny if the movie abruptly ended after the main character (garfield) gets smashed against the roof of a car.

But, they could of made it a bit more believable. I could see like 1st floor, or 2nd floor at max, but he fell like 4 or 5 stories through it and came out licking his chops like it was nothing.
Can't wait to see MI:3 though.

i think that they should have the cat get crushed....teach the kids about death the right way...by showing it to them...betcha nobody would see that coming..."Splat!" then you'd have the kids saying "mommy what happened to the cat?"

But then they couldn't make money off a sequel. Unless it was about the death of Garfield. The Funeral, Odie's mourning.

If you want a good unrealistic movie, watch the 1960's Batman movie with Adam West, or any of the Naked Gun films

Dude, I love the Naked Gun, that was comedic genius (compared to the crap being put out nowadays like Date Movie)
I neglected to give a response to the negative John Woo commentary, which I will do now.
Face/Off is his only good American flick. Everything else has been a disaster - Paycheck was one of the worst movies I've seen in my life, for example. However, his Hong Kong movies, for the most part, were pure genius, fuck Quentin Tarantino and the Wachowski Brothers for ripping off of his style. If you can, check out these movies below:
- A Better Tomorrow - A Better Tomorrow 2 - The Killer - Hard Boiled
Plot has not been a strength of his, so if you are finding the story lacking just skip ahead to the action scenes.
On an unrelated note: I hope the new John Woo game (Stranglehold) will be great, due on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 sometime later this year. (November 17th apparently?)

The naked gun films were just silly. Garfield was based of a caomic strip, so some things needed to be far fetched to stay true to its roots. I have yet to see MI3 What annoyed me was in transporter 2, with the bomb under the car. the first move was beautifull, no CG work, and wonderfull car chases. the second was OK, asde from the CG bomb scene. Perhaps im a purist whgen it come to car chases. (watch bullitt, you see hub caps fly off ) As for Jon woo films, and people emulating his style.......Ehhhh True, plot is not Jon strong point, and I expect that in his films. Paycheck was good in my opnion, but I wouldnt spend money to see it in a theater (YEAH CABLE!). Broken arrow was OK, having its moments here and thare.
