Would you be interested in purchasing a Canon S2 IS camera with a faulty CCD? It comes with two sets of batteries, a charger, all original paperwork, software, and cords, and the original sd card (never used). This camera is about 2 years old, but I never took more than 1000 pictures with it, if that. Apparently some Canon S2 IS's were produced with faulty CCDs, and I got one of them. Because of the problem, I never used it much and just recently replaced it with a newer panasonic. This is the more in depth review you'll find for this camera: www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons2is/And if you don't buy this one, it's about the best camera review site on the internet, so it's a great place to start with research. So, the CCD needs to be replaced, but any decent camera store (RITZ, Best Buy, your local shop, etc) can do it for you. Throw me an offer and we can go from there if you're interested.

Read the review but can't find what the CCD is? Lookin for a bigger cld than 1.8 but I can live with it. Not good with offers. Let me see if I can find out what CCD is first.

The CCD is a 1/2.5” CCD, 5.3 million pixels. I have no idea if this is one of those parts that canon contracts out for, like lenses, or if they build them themselves. Or if you're asking what a CCD is, it's the the photosensing aray that captures the image. CCD stands for Charge-Coupled Device, and it's essentially what makes a digital camera a camera.
I can assure you that the swivel LCD (so you can change the angle if it's too bright out to see it or you need to take a picture from an angle that you can't get your head into) is quite enough to view your shot. With all the shit this camera does, the size of the LCD is a minor concern, if at all. If you want to go beyond a camera like this capabilities wise, you're starting to look at the Nikon D40 series and some professional cameras in that class. I don't know what kind of photography you're doing, but I know that's a hell of a lot more camera than I need.
