Storyline
July: After the failure of the small pox deployment at Panmonjom, the North Korean front temporarily collapses. The 104th DPRK Infantry Division is surrounded and captured by Coalition forces as they advance into the country.
September: North Korean forces adopt scorched earth tactics, completely destroying infrastructure in the face of the advance. Coalition forces use the small country roads to transport supplies until major roadways can be repaired. The onset of unseasonably early snowfall turns the lacking North Korean road infrastructure into an impassible morass of mud. The Coalition advance grinds to a snails pace.
October: The 25th DPRK Tactical Operations Brigade based in the Yonan area begins to launch Donglao-2 missiles at Coalition supply convoys. Slowed by the lack of passable roads, US and Korean forces begin to suffer heavy casualties from these attacks. A major supply base at the heart of the Coalition offensive is hit badly in the second week of attacks. The advance into North Korea is halted as front-line units begin to run short on fuel and ammunition.
Intelligence from within the North Korean armed forces have indicated that the next major target for the missile attacks is the South Korean naval port in Seoul. An attack on this major supply base could potentially compromise the entire Coalition operation on the Korean peninsula. To deal with this threat, Coalition commanders organize a deep strike on the missile complex outside Yonan. Centered near an active airfield with heavy defenses, the site has proved too risky for the use of air-strikes. A combination of US Army Rangers and South Korean light infantry units will compose the main ground units for the attack.
Sources have also indicated that the airfield has a temporary storage of the small pox virus used against Coalition forces earlier in the campaign. Reported to be in the area is Doctor White, a captured American scientist and expert on the virus. Both Doctor White and the Small Pox stores are scheduled to be flown out of the airfield to Pyongyang during the operation. Find the doctor and transport him to an extraction zone. Securing the airfield after transporting the Small Pox stores will also be necessary to deny its use to the enemy.
