HI, I'm getting the stuff to make some airsoft grenades and was just wondering if you can use them during the games and events on here. They are the plastic easter egg filled with bb's and a firecracker type. I'm making them mainly for use with my friends since I don't have the money to go and buy the $50 re-usable ones.

No, no pyro is allowed at any airsoft events. Pyro = anything explosive or combustible. The only pyro allowed is cold burning smoke grenades because they contain the reaction within the grenade itself.

So would those smoke grenades that you make at home with the salt peter and that be fine? The ones from those youtube videos.

Does anyone know a place where I could buy some cheap smoke grenades that can be used and work good?

Not sure what most people use, but being new myself I was looking around for a cheap cold burning smoke grenade and I think the cheapest, safest I found are actually Marine smoke flares. Orion makes some orange smoke flares and they run around $5 a flare. I could be really far off target, but thats what I would use.

Waaaaay back when, I tried about 5 or 6 different models for airsoft grenades. From what i found, springs just don't work, but there were always those water grenades of mine...
I found the design on some really obscure homemade paintball gear website. You basically take some of that opaque-yellow surgical tube and superglue one end. On the other end, hook it up to a water balloon filler and fill it with water. Now, to make the pin, i would file down the threading of a drywall screw so it wasn't dangerous anymore and would stick the screw, head down, into the open tube. Believe it or not, this was perfect because it would only activate after being dropped from about 4 feet or undergoing an equally strong force. For a pull pin, i took a piece of wire and poked it through the excess tube above the screw. These things have a good 10ft radius spread and just spray the target with a quick splash of water, so it doesn't harm guns or anything.
You probably want pyro stuff, but these worked well and are probably legal.
