That depends on how large of a battery you want to use. Most nunchuck batteries should fit just fine. The regular 8.4 or 9.6v mini will fit, too. But traditionally, the M16A3 has a solid stock. So what you really ought to do to get a larger battery in is rewire the gun to the rear. Most solid stocks will hold very large 9.6v batteries quite easily. The rewire work shouldn't be too hard, especially if you just buy a new wire harness that's meant to run to the back of the gun. That way you get a true M16 and you don't have to worry about battery space.

Well, I cant re-wire it because the stock ends at the gear box xo there is no way to get arround it :/ and I'd like it where its a great cqb gun but if I needed to go long barrel'd you could swap it out for the longer one and change the battery and its ready to shoot.
EDIT: Really what im looking for is if the hand grip splits because if it does i'll just slip a nunchuck in there.
