Hello SEMIA, I've been looking around and I have a few questions the camo. In the next couple days, I am thinking on buying myself a black tactical vest. Now I have a set of woodland camo, and I think that the vest would look pretty good along with it. Is that considered multicam? The second question is, if the event doesn't specify on camo restrictions (e.g. Good guys: Green based, Bad Guys: Tan based) would I still be able to take my set and join good guys, or would the vest throw it off. The last question is (This may seem pretty obvious but I want to just make sure) if an event says 'No black or blue' for camo restrictions, would that include a black vest?
Thanks!

No, a black vest with woodland camo is not "multicam." Multicam is a specific pattern of camo. It looks like this: www.wannabe.uk.com/GRAW%20013.jpgWhen an event has specific camo requirements, gear is usually not taken into consideration. So you can wear any color vest you want, as long as your camo pattern is allowed on one team or the other. And no, "no black or blue" doesn't usually refer to gear, just camo. With all of that said, think of buying a different color vest. Black is a terrible color to wear a lot of in any outdoor environment in Michigan. The simple fact of the matter is, there are no large patches of black anywhere in nature, short of volcanic rock. So large patches of black, like say, a vest, stand out like a sore thumb. I can't tell you how many times I've been able to spot and kill an enemy because he was wearing a black tac vest instead of a color that blends in better. You might as well wear bright orange. But on top of that, it's pretty much not going to be mil-sim these days, either. No American armed forces uses black gear specifically because it stands out so much. So you won't look right wearing it. Look into either Olive Drab or Coyote Brown. Both colors will go great with Woodland camo, and both colors will help you blend in a hell of a lot better than black.

I'd call it OD, but it doesn't really matter. Gear color isn't taken into consideration by any event organizers. So as long as it looks good with what you're wearing, functions how you want it to, and helps you blend in to your environment, it can be any color or combination of colors that you want.

Would ACU blend in much, or should I get a different uniform?

ACU sucks, and is probably going out of service soon. Get something better.

I kind of like ACU, because most of my family is from the Army and my cousin has allowed me to wear it. It has it's con and there will most likely be an updated version soon after we leave the Middle East (like a woodland version or some shit like that). But, I like ACU personally. If I do get a new uniform, any recommendations, prefer something woodland (MARPAT or the Army woodland).
