Upgrading G&P M14 DMR

Hi, I will order the G&P m14 DMR and was wondering what upgrades I should order for the replica to have an effective range of 250-270 feet if possible. Also I was wondering which bbs to use and of what weight.

My current build list=
Prometheus double torque steel gears for V7
G&P M160 DMR motor
Guarder SP140 spring
Prometheus 500 mm 6.03mm inner barrel
Systema hop up bucking

I was wondering about any further upgrades I could tack on and any advice you guys could give me.

A Polycarb piston would be a good idea with the strength of that spring. Also, if you can find one, a PDI spring would be a MUCH better choice because the spring is shorter and will put less stress on the gearbox when at rest, giving you more durability. It will also be easier for the motor to turn, not that the M160 will have any trouble with it.

Thanks for the advice, so what percentage for the PDI, what polycarb piston and is there any other upgrade parts I should add for 250-270 feet? Also what fps should I run this at?

Range and accuracy will be determined by the quality of the barrel and hopup, not the FPS. Although FPS does help a small bit, it's not nearly as important as people make it out to be. A PDI 260% will put you above 500 FPS, however you can easily achieve that range with a 400 FPS replica. Don't forget to mod your tappet plate for semi-auto only to comply with MIA sanctioned event rules.

Any brand reinforced polycarb piston will do, but try to look for one with a few metal teeth. The thing is that you WANT the piston to be the thing that breaks if anything because it's the easiest and cheapest to replace.

Alright, thank you. So I just need to add the piston to my list for the necessary upgrades? Is there anything else to upgrade?
