Super new to airsoft

Hello there, I've been 'playing' airsoft for a while, but only recently decided to seriously get into the sport, and it would be great if I could get some help getting started.
First of all, what do I need to wear if I go by myself to a rec game or the like (besides something covering my face, I know that)?
Would a jacket and long pants be acceptable?
I know that teams require uniforms but as a loner that would work right?
And also for future reference are there any teams around the Waterford area that would take a new player (after I get used to the sport, of course).
Any help anyone gives is helpful.
