I say that once we establish ourselves, we invite out a few cops in the area to observe, and maybe get involved a little. Experience is the best cure to ignorance, so if the cops know whats going on maybe they will spread the word that airsoft is growing as a positive activity in the area.

Id agree. The benifits of being friendly with the local police could open a lot of oppertuities. I know some departments, with their own SWAT team, will invite civilians to play hostages during training OPs. Could be a great learning experience, and a lot of fun

Only if the tango uses you as a human shield. Or if they're not too good at identifying friendlies. Or if you make a threatening gesture.

I read that cops are starting to adpat expensive airsoft training guns for practice. They are high powered enough to simulate pain, but are cheaper, easier to maintain and less expensive. And yes, I bet simunitions hurt like hell.
