allrighty since some people like the design(s) and others do not we are going to restart this as if semia was a "client".

Cause gestapo, I and Punisher are artist not magicians or mind readers.

Simply what would everyone like the SEMIA identity to be?

In simple terms what conceptual representation would best reflect SEMIA?

What colors would you like to see in the design that best reflects semia, airsoft, etc.

What typeface would best fit our needs?

From there the people who which to participate will design a VECTOR identity. If others would like to do raster graphics for shirts then go right ahead.

However the logo has to be vector.

When i say vector i don't mean importing raster graphics into a vector program either.

First though lets get as many people opinions on the board to the above attributes. Then i will sort out the best 5 attributes which i feel will be the most successfull.

After holding poll for the concept that would work best.

Then after the poll if finished anyone who wants to design can go ahead- in VECTOR

..... wa wa wa i don't have a vector program then go find one,lol.

This process will save me and everyone on else useless amounts of work. Since, we will get to the root of what the majority would like the idenity of semia to be represented by.

- in the end, post any and all the attributes you would like to see in our logo here. Get as detailed as you like. That way i and everyone one else designing can better understand the needs of the majority rather then our own individual portrayals of what suits semia best.

Infamous, SEMIA isn't a client, and there isn't an executive to make decisions about what exact aspects the logo should have. The way we set up the other thread is the best way to go about it. Submit some logos, take some criticism of them, adjust them, and then we vote on the best. The only thing we probably should have done was create a size restraint.

The problem with setting things like text face and color before we have a design is that some colors and some text faces will just look ugly with an image. This is a creative process and nobody should be limited to specific constraints that aren't size (and even that should be pretty flexible). If we say that we want to use shades of red, the best design that somebody could have come up with might have been in blue and involving water or something. Instead, we've restricted that design and we short ourselves on one more good choice. Don't limit a creative process

When pepsi needed to make a logo for diet pepsi, they were restricted to red and blue because their colors were already red and blue, and they needed to maintain those for easy recognition. We don't have colors for recognition, we need to come up with them in the logo. Do you think Cadilac decided to use a shield in its logo without looking at any other options? Any variation they may make on their logo has to have a shield in it for recognition because that's what they have already.

All we're asking of you, gestapo, punisher, and anbody else who wants to try to make a logo is to be an artist. Come up with a few different artistic concepts and then we'll vote on the best. And you know what, if we don't end up using one of yours, edit it some and turn it in for one of your classes so you don't feel like you've wasted your time. Or just don't submit a logo at all to be sure you don't waste your time.

As for vector or raster, submit it in any form that you want, because it's going up at the top of the forum for it's primary use. I don't see it being used a whole lot else anyway, other than maybe in our sigs or avatars on MiA or here. If you keep it signiture or avatar sized, then it won't be a problem.
