Just wear an extra layer or two underneath your gear. I work outside year round and I can tell you honestly, if you're dressed for it and moving around you'll be fine. I'll probably have 2-3 layers under my Flecktarn gear and snow camo over top of it. 2 pairs of socks, Gortex 800gram boots. And, of course GLOVES. Probably should bring an extra pair, too. Just don't expect to stay warm wearing normal street clothes and then trying out sniping, in the snow.

It's okay to show up if you're not on the roster.

Last weekend Bowen and I chatted about bombing runs on the field with the use of a real airplane. I learned a few people (who think they know the FAA Regs, but actually don't!) were saying it's illegal, and blah, blah, blah.
Firstly Sec. 91.15 states:
I would like and end to this by stating this would be perfectly legal since reasonable precautions have been taken. Hence safety goggles and people are aware of the situation.
Secondly, If you have a concern about something (APC, Bombing Runs, Mortars, Rocket 'Nerf' Launchers) on the field during the event. Speak Up! Nobody is going to tell you to F off if you voice your concern in a mature adult matter. However, if you voice your concern like a child, and bitch about it... that's another story. If you do have a conern about something happening on a field, say something.
There is nothing wrong with outright saying: I have a concern about the safety on the field with... Then give a brief explaination why.
Remember silence is acceptance.

I don't think it's a big deal to drop BB's on people. The wind is going to slow them down anyway. The only thing I see as a concern is the slight possibility of something going wrong with your plane and it going down at 200 mph. That could do some serious damage to the players on the field. God forbid. Slim, yes, but possible.. I'm not that concerned because it is a pretty slim chance. Just saying some people may have issues. The risk is a close toss up between that and the modified Shotgun that some people had issues with. Even, though it had been modified so it would not accept live ammunition. ( Sorry to bring that back up ) I personally looked it over and thought it was acceptable. Anyway, I just think if people were that concerned about that, then they'd be even more so about a 3-4000 pound machine flying at low levels at speeds around 200 miles an hour. Just my 2 cents..

I understand your concerns. I would like to point out that there is an airport less than 1 mile away from the field, with other aircraft flying at altitudes of 300'AGL or less. My altitude would be a minimum of 500'AGL (above ground level). Again planes in the traffic pattern taking off or landing are much less than 500'AGL as they turn base to final. As a pilot, I would be more concern with the aircraft taking off and landing than a low altitude cruising aircraft. 200mph is a bit fast at 500'AGL, when flying that low I slow to 80-90 knots (about 100mph). Small planes don't typically weigh 3-4000 pounds. My plane much like the typical Piper's and Cessna’s of the world have a MAX Weight of 2000~ pounds, much lighter and smaller than a Honda Civic. My typical weight is around 1450 pounds. And as far as something going wrong. Well frankly we could add that statement to everything we do. God Forbid, A Drunk could slam into a school bus....or a group of Airsofter's car pooling together hit a patch of ice on the road and seriously wreck... etc. It's a common misconception that aircraft are unsafe. I would like to just point out a few things to anyone who feels this way. Perhaps they may look at aviation in another fashion. Private and commercial have the same Airworthiness Requirements in order to fly. Commercial Aircraft tend to only meet the minimum requirements set forth by the FAA in order to cut costs. Private Aircraft owners tend to go beyond the minimum requirements set by the FAA for various reasons. #1 reason - it's their life and the other people with them up there. Statistically you’re more likely to be killed by a Drunk Driver than you are in an airplane. Statistically you’re more likely to die from Heart Disease, Cancer, Ammonia, Heart Attack or Stroke than you are from an airplane.Back on topic. If I decide to flyin for this event, I won't be doing any bombing runs. Now airplane rides, that another story.

On that note you have more of a chance of dying in Detroit than you do in Iraq. Recruiter BS for you

As Superman always says, "Statistically speaking, flying is still the safest way to travel."
