Kjones, no using "r" in place of "are," or other such abbreviations. We use full sentences around here, complete with capital letters and proper punctuation.

I've been frequenting airsoft boards for 6 years, moderating them for 4, and running my own for just over 3. Every board that I've moderated has been very successful for as long as it was necessary, and there's a reason why. In 6 years of reading airsoft forums I found that one thing above all others makes members want to stay. That one thing is intelligent posting. Intelligent posting includes, but is not limited to: On topic posting, posting of good information on that topic, posting that information in a timely fashion, and posting that information in an intelligible manner. If one of those key aspects is missing from the post, it's a bad post. If forum is full of bad posts, nobody of any value sticks around on the forum. When everybody of value leaves, the forum becomes a bunch of asshats who post...like you do. Then, when those asshats have nothing to post about, because they've sucked the forum dry of anybody who posts anything worth reading, the asshats leave. When that happens, the forum dies. But at that point, it's for the better, because the forum was nothing more than a bunch of people complaining that they should be able to spell the way they want and adding "omg" to the end of every phrase to make it emphatic because they don't know how to use italics--either the proper way to utilize them for emphasis or the UBBC to actually include them into a post.
I'd like to keep this forum alive and well, and until that's no longer the case, I'm going to continue to require every post to follow the standards above. And get this, kid--forums aren't democracies and you don't have a right to freedom of speech here. You haven't proven yourself to be any kind of useful member, so I don't give a shit what you think the rules of SEMIA should or shouldn't be. The adminstrating and moderating staff here get to make the rules that we feel best benefit the community and guide it in the direction that we want it to head. So far, the only people to complain about our rules have been members who contribute absolutely nothing to the forum. On the other hand, we've gotten quite a few great members here who stick around because they like the environment. And because of that, newbies who find this forum can get a lot of help with their guns, finding stores, or finding players in their area.
As soon as we start posting in a manner that doesn't facilitate all of those good aspects of SEMIA, we lose them. So you will post the way we tell you to post, or you won't post.
