El is not quite quoting it right. Anything above 410 must be semi-auto/bolt action only, and the maxium allowed velocity on those guns is 550. Anything that is capable of full auto fire must chrono lower than 410 fps with .2g bbs (and we will be chronographing). Anything that shoots above 350 fps with .2g bbs is not allowed to be fired from any point inside the house or on the deck to any other point inside the house or on the deck. The engagement limits posted above still stand for shoot from outside of the house and shooting to outside of the house.

I think who ever is hosting the game should be allowed to set FPS engagement rules. who is actually getting this game setup.
FPS Engagement Rules are set up as a Standard to go by, it is not an actual law. If i wanted to host an event i could pretty much make them whatever i wanted . I know not all teams actually use those rules.

Well the reason we usually don't do that is well, the MiA rules are reasonable. People don't want to be hit by a 400 FPS gun from 2 ft 12 times. I'm also assuming El roughly agrees with the MiA rules

im not trying to change the rules but i have a S-system that i use for a sniper type rifle it is shooting 440 . My team and the teams we normally play dont mind it as long as i leave it on semi- auto
I agree with the engagement rule i just dont like the part were i cant use my aeg for sniper rifle because it isnt bolt action or semi-auto only

Yeah, Andrew may be able to use different guns for different rules, but for a lot of us, it would suck to find out an organiser changed the limits and your gun does not fit them. This is why it is good to stick with one set of rules.

S system, you're out right at the engagement limit of a 440 FPS AK-47. They see you and shoot off 3 rounds REAL quick. All 3 hit you in the face. Your gonna be in some pain, and your not going to be very happy.

I agree with Gestapo, I don't like with the idea of using semi auto as a replacement for single shot or bolt action. In the end they are not the same. Semi auto can put out many more bbs. Even if you shoot slowly, there is still the matter of not having to change the gun position to operate the bolt and then aim again.

Even though this might come back to bite me, I agree as well, I got lit up by a 400 fps+ gun from about 15 feet, that was not fun at all...

The whole idea of airsoft was to make it MIL-SIM or as realistic as possible. In the real world alot of marksmen use very different types of weapons including semi-auto M4 style weapons , and the list goes on . Barrett .50 cal semi-auto , PSG1

God, somehow I knew the PSG-1 would become involved.
There is a sort of difference, for a couple reasons for my PSG-1 vs. an M4A1. Mt PSG-1 (unless I used El's G3 Standard), is limited to 15 shots per mag. Also, it can only be used on semi auto, and can NOT be used in any way on Full Auto.
