Honestly dude, if you're going to join anything military related. Join the service, at least you would be doing something more for your country. Most state militias are gun toting rednecks(No offense to gun toting rednecks).

Although the service may sound scary, there are jobs that don't require you to go on the front lines. I would suggest taking the ASVAB test at a requiting office, this would tell you what it is that you're good at, that way you can make an educated decision, instead of doing something out of haste.

The reason that you don't have Asian friends is because Ohio has fewer Asian Americans than Michigan, and doesn't necessarily have that much to attract that demographic to the state - one of the attractions to Michigan is the automobile industry, since many are white-collar engineers.

Now to keep this on topic, please do join the service if you are that interested in enlisting. Militias... don't really do much except garner bad reputations in the media.

Have you ever experianced jungle or mountain warfare? Besides what you may interpret from the movies, it is very different in real life. You should probably experiance the thing first, before you go around saying you like it better.
