The MEU were essentially merc's for the DA. I dont think guns for hire would work out too well because...what would we pay them with?

I don't think it has anything to do with what we pay them with... It was just part of the story.

Well guns for hire implies that they could change sides if given enough cash. If theres no cash involved, they would just be part of one of the two armies, and the only thing that would change is that we would have to remember some new names for troops.

The cash is in the story. We don't have the option of paying a merc more. The mercs have already been payed and are on their way to kill...
