Well, before we go crazy-go-nuts and rent some land, I think we should really start thinking about what we want to do with it. We want to be able to tell the owner exactly what we'll be doing, how long it will take to tear it down, and prior planning is always good. I say we should focus on that first, because if we look for land now, the opportunity might not be available later, and new/better options may arise. Either way, it's going to take time, and if we get land before we know exactly what we want to do, we won't get anything done. Now fortunately, we have something to work with: the movie Black Hawk Down.

Well I just want to see if we could even get land in the first place.

Right, I understand, but making OP Irene is a rather daunting task, and should be planned meticulously before we actually do anything.
And I'm sure there is something that would work within driving distance of you.
What's our status on materials? Do we have some, or do we know where we can get some?
EDIT: I think using a fellow airsoft player's land would be your best bet. Unless you want to rent an island in Grenada, there aren't really any options for renting 20-30 acres. If King could convince his family to let us play/build there, then our problem would be solved. I also may be able to look for some stuff closer to here. There is a firing range outside of town with lots of open land (maybe not 20 acres). We'd have to close off the range (we don't want anyone actually getting shot), but it's good building land.

I don't think they want to build on King's land it's a personal cottage up north, not an airsoft field.

Yeah, that probably wouldn't be a good idea then. The firing range probably wouldn't be pricey at all to rent for a couple of days, but I'm not sure if I can convince the owners to let us play there. We'd just have to pay them what they'd make in two days and maybe a little more, and that's really not much at all (there isn't a big gun crowd here). However, I'm not sure how far Albion is from everybody.
I would check out the fields in Clinton Township in the "Airsoft Fields" forum and see what you think. They're certainly big enough.

Yeah if you guys need any help, I'm always up for some work, and as for old cars go, my buddies dad owns a junkard, Ernie's Auto Parts, to be exact. It's located in Harrison Twp. He might give us a deal on some junk cars depending on how many we buy. i'll see if iI can get a pricing next time I tak to him.

We might want to check some plane graveyards. They have a lot of hollowed out cesnas, for probably fairly cheap($1000+). That would add to the effect of the Black Hawk Down scenerio.

If we had a black hawk down event then the second year maybe we could buy something like that with the profit. This OP could really be good all we need is land...

actually i know a guy that works for my dad and is my neighbors brother that has around 70 acres in flint with a privite lake... ill ask him if we can use it and tell him we will pay him for every event held there... if he wont let us tear down the woods to build towns im sure he wouldnt mind us developing a woodland type of game possibly vietnam??
ill get back to you about that...
also i think that SEMIA should out together a savings to buy land if an oppertunity comes along that way we can do what ever we want on the land and not have to worry about renting it everytime.

We might want to check some plane graveyards. They have a lot of hollowed out cesnas, for probably fairly cheap($1000+). That would add to the effect of the Black Hawk Down scenerio. Not likely. A hollowed Cessna 172 sells for around 7k and up. Not including the wings. Wings themselfs go for 15k. And this is for a Cessna 152. However, there is a few abandoned aircraft sitting at Pontiac, a few old 2 engine BeachCrafts. The county would almost give them to you if you could get them off airport property. Transportation of these babies would be very, very costly. Someone mentions using vechiles, it's cheaper and safer to make a vechile using foam. This way they can be moved and there are no sharp edges or glass. Land, I once played a 24 hour paintball game up in the Manistee National Forest. The field was 1x3 miles, total number of players was over 350 people. Only a permit was require to use the land from National Parks. Permit was less than a few hundred dollars, only request from the park sevice was to clean up after youself. However, there was no water, eletric, etc. We were truely in BFE.
