More OPs? (org. Vietnam...)

I've been into the Vietnam stuff lately, and I thought it would be pretty cool for SEMIA to host a Vietnam Themed OP, Similar to Redout.

We could have 2 sides

Allied forces

With US Special forces (Wearing Tiger stripe) (MEU like)
Regular US forces (Wearing OD green)
South Vietnam Forces (Wearing Woodland)

Then we could have the North Vietnam side

NVA (Green or black)
VC (blue or black, civi clothes)

It would be hard to do, mainly because not all people have Armalites, and AKs, or the listed Camouflage, but I'm sure we could do it.
We could have multiple objectives, with one general plot.

Another thing we would have to work around, is where to host it.
Futureball is hard now, because paintballers are playing now, so we couldn't use the whole place. And I don't know if the Romulus Field could hold 100+ people. I can help plan this out or host it.

Suggestions, thoughts, concerns?

I think thats cool. And what romulous field are you talking about, screenshot me. my parents work out there and work there. And if its where i am thinking of, They might know the person who owns the field. This guy has 40+ acres in one spot I think he owns over 70 acres total. But Hes my parents, friend, who i doubt would let 100+ people play there if it was organized and whatnot. Romulous isnt the safest area either. Stray dogs and cats wander through the area. But yeah. That sounds pretty cool

Well, the VC wouldnt have to be just armed with AK's, in fact later in the war they often carried M14's and other VN era american weapons that we supplied the south with. Problem is, the south vietnamese just contantly fled and left their weapons behind, so our investment was kind of useless, thus the VC got american weapons for free : P

there is no way in HELL romulus can hold 75. When SEMIA was just getting started... we got like 30 out there and it was croweded.

heres the op I had in mind, please dont steal it, I put alot of work into this baby.

The USAF just reported a downed F-111, with intel on the locations of the United States Nuclear Missile Plants. The plane was last seen in a farm area off the coast of HUE Vietnam. U.S. intel also tells us that the illegal arms dealer Bao Hung is located in the city of HUE Vietnam.


Five days later, President George W. Bush announced that the Terrorist organization captured the two pilots in the F-111, and will not let them free. Bush has taken action, involving the U.S. Special Forces.

The United States Special Forces Objectives will be to:
-Seize HUE beach
-Find and Extract F-111 Pilots
-Gather intel from plane
-Capture Bao Hung
-Neutralize all enemy soldiers

The Terrorist Organizations Objectives will be to:
-Defend HUE beach
-Defend the F-111 crash site
-Keep Pilots secure
-Neutralize all U.S. Special Forces

Bao Hung Guards: 2

This could be part of a Bigger OP, because I wanted to put in VC (they could be terrorists), NVA, South Vietnam, and US regulars.

... sorry stevens, but you should research the subject more carefully before you come up with a scenario

1) The F-111 is no longer in the USAF inventory, unless you are talking the historical period when Bush was just a figher jockey in the Texas ANG
2) What would an F-111 be doing carrying that information, and why would it be randomly flying around the country?
3) Along those lines, "plants" is vague - if you are talking about nuclear production facilities, that is publicly available information, if you are talking about silos that's a different story
4) Vietnam is not a terrorist haven

A more likely scenario would be fighting between the US/South Vietnamese and the NVA/VC for Hue, with a plane getting shot down during an airstrike and SpecOps or something being dispatched to rescue the crew.

Matt, the biggest problem is that most people (that I know of) are not Vietnam-period reenactors, but if there was enough interest in doing this I'd be down anyway.

Hmm, you're right, it would be difficult with the lack of Vietnam Enthusiasts, but I'm sure if we mentioned this to the people at MIA, We could get a nice little group to try it out in a small OP.
I know that Canto, Nightcrawler, Me, Tj, Jacko, and enkidu are Nam enthusiasts, and I'm sure there's more.
This is only to plan it out, so suggestions are much appreciated, I know you guys have been thinking about Scenarios, but thats not all I need.
