I actually tried calling a realtor in livonia about renting out a place for this sort of thing. Once I finished telling him all about our "sport" and what we were looking to rent, he pretty much just shrieked "Jesus Christ!" and hung up. My point is, that this is gonna be pretty damn hard to find a place within a reasonable distance of our collective areas, to play indoors. Probably the only way we can get a buiilding to play in would be if one of us had connections with the seller or realtor of the building for sale.

True....but my idea is to..
1) Pool Many (Serious) people's money and resources 2) Have a retailer set up a store inside...(take up some rent)
If we can get some people to serioesly consider this and put up some money I'm sure we can get enough money to open up a CQB...somewhere...building stuff is not a problem..volunteers....supplys for building things could be a lil expensive....
Even local non airsoft businesses may be interested in investing.....we could also offer AD space inside

Realistically, finding a place in the Southeast Michigan area, will be difficult if not impossible. We should focus our eyes towards the west and the north. Where less people live and less people ask questions.

Which leads to another issue Damo, if we went north and/or west would it be a SEMIA CQB facility? I think not.

Regardless, it'd be ours, (probably an individual with their name under the title, probably be a lot of legal contracts we'd have) Now when I say North or West, I mean you don't have to look so far North to see nice buildings available for lease/rent

I was refering to... Where less people live and less people ask questions. I think what we should do...(im willing..idk if everyone else is) make the entrance fees to SEMIA maybe 5 or so dollars higher so SEMIA can have some sort of funds that we could lease out a building or do some other cool stuff that we may think of.,....of course make sure all money is documented and safe...as to aviod corruption and theft

$10 would be reasonable. That way we still get money. And the $15 at SM is kinda high but you do get 5-6 hours of gameplay. (When i say high i mean high for a cheap player, I guess i would say Im fairly cheap)

Just had an Idea, and you all can tell me what ya think.
SWAT teams are always looking for places to train, especially Livonia SWAT. I've heard that they sometimes even rent out rooms at the Holiday Inn to train in.
We could make a very realistic indoor training area like the one at SIM-trainer(sp?) and rent it out to SWAT teams to do Force on Force with simunitions.
This would give us a whole other market to do business with. without opening it up to p-ballers, thus giving us a more consistent flow of income to help pay the rent.

that would be nice. however I dont think that they would be interested untill the place is open and running. What we need is start up cash after that, gate fees and such should cover it

Anyways, back on topic.
Where are we going to find this building, and how are we going to fund it.

I already mentioned a way to create the start up funds, charge extra for gate fees to Ops in the near future, that can generate lots of cash. If you want more detail about that check my previous posts

Hey ya'll, I'm new here. I live in Toledo and ALL my gear is cqb Swat. I have wanted to do an indoor park for a while now and I have a few ideas of my own. Ideally I'd like to get ahold of a 30-40,000 square foot building and set it up like a trailer park crack town with about a dozen used trailers, sheds and gravel for road ways (bring outdoors in so we can play in the winter) and do some real SWAT type stuff, don't charge SWAT to rent the place just invite them to participate with us, we could learn allot from them. Theres an actual outdoor law enforcement training facility in nearby Sylvania Ohio near the quarry but I doubt civilians can use it. Property for sale is abundant here in Toledo, half the buildings in downtown are for sale or lease everyone's moving to the burbs. Most are three stories or more, you should look into it. Now my point to this post is this. My old church when I lived in Madison Heights has been shrinking in attendance and finances, the building is 4 stories and only the first level and basement are currently used, I'd like to talk to them and see if they would like a few hundred dollars a month to rent the two top floors. Just like your school house idea most of the rooms are connected and sparsely furnished. The interior is shaped like an H so there will be plenty of corners and long halls for sniping, we could use a corner room for a command center, regeneration and cafe area. All hall way lights will remain out and only a few rooms will have lights on so that just a little bit of light will shine through the door windows into the halls (tac lights encouraged) ;D. It is heated and has restrooms obviously. If I can get them interested I would have to charge 15 a day and do it every other Saturday. Half the money will go to the church and the other half will cover food for lunch. I will also have a charging station and ammo for sale if any one needs it. I am also working out a carabineer type tag system where everyone will get a tag to hang from there belt loop, once you die your killer takes your tag and you walk back to the command center with your gun held above your head (no kill rags) if there are twenty people playing you have twenty tags to collect, collect them all and you win. That among all the other team and solo scenario's you are all use to playing. I think it would be pretty sweet, its all indoors away from unknowing people, the upper floors would be blocked off from anyone not playing, it should work out quite nicely. Oh yeah the church is Calvary Baptist in hazel park on the I-75 service drive

My only concern Holowpoint, is the potential damage to the drywall at the church Airsoft BB's WILL leve dents int he wall, and enough strikes inthe same place can lead to a hole. Patching drywall isn't hard, just dusty and time consuming And the walls need to be re-painted when were done. What aobut game times? When can we start? We cant be inturpting church services with us screaming "DROP THE WEAPON NOW!", "2 TANGOS IN THE BACK ROOM" or "I WANT A CAR OUTSIDE NOW OR I BLOW THIS FUCKERS HEAD OFF" (EL likes to role-play at games ) Just some considerations. Sounds like a fun place. See what you can do
